Just a quick lil author's note, this book will be on a VERY SHORT hiatus!!!!
Trust me, I plan on getting this book done if it's the last thing I do. I have the rest of the chapters planned out and prompted so writer's block won't be a problem. And I have every reason of loving Withered Bonnie and Bonnie in general to keep it going.
But in order for me to update more regularly, I'll be focusing majorly on another book of mine I want to finish this summer. It better be finished this summer. Once I've caught up with that and some oneshot requests, I will turn all of my writing time to this book.
Sorry to be updating SO VERY SLOW but I promise it'll be worth it 😉But of course I need to reach the word count in this part so I don't deal with Wattpad going "uhh this chapter's too short".
Soooooo I'll take this opportunity to rant some about the FNaF movie.First of all, I don't want this film to be a horror masterpiece. I don't want it to be a "I shit myself in the theaters" kind of deal. I want it to be cheesy, to be campy, to play off some of the ridiculousness of this series, because come on. You can't say that it isn't there. But of course, you would need to have some good horror elements. And I feel like we have those. The animatronics and the atmosphere seem to be the perfect components for the job, so I'm not too worried. Plus, Blumhouse is making Five Nights it's top priority right now. I feel like we should loosen up some on the company.
Now, of course, everyone wants the spring lock scene. Of course that would be pretty cool. Or the bite of 83 or 87. Or seeing the missing children's incident take place. Well, maybe not the kids getting slaughtered on screen for my own sake, but still. I want some lighter scenes as well as the iconic ones.
Like Bonnie standing in the hallway, the Toreador March playing during the power outage, Foxy running down the hall, etcetera. But I wanna see Bonnie take that guitar in action. I can't stop gushing about the stupid guitar strap whenever I see the poster. It's such a small and minute detail, but I love it so, so, SO much. It'd be cool to have Mike hear the guitar play, him look at the camera, then Bonnie's at the end of the hall. Something just cold like that.
Plot wise, I thought I had a pretty good idea of what the movie would be. It's implied by casting updates that we'll be getting flashbacks to the old pizzeria along with additional characters like Golden Freddy, the Puppet, Balloon Boy, and who is rumored to be Springtrap. There are also plenty of human characters that we don't know, not to mention the "female villain" that no one knows or speculates about. So who knows what'll really go down in the film.
I keep looking back at Dawko's review of being on set and it's not just reassuring hearing how involved Scott is, but hearing that most of the crew has PLAYED THE GAME. MAN. And he said you could tell everyone was excited about the project. That's insane, man. F in the chat for those saying this is a simple cash grab. I mean, that's the goal for every movie. And it's a smart choice to target such a popular franchise, but at least some heart is going into this thing. I thought we wouldn't have to talk about this once we saw the animatronics were one to one copies from the game. But you can tell that the people behind it care about the game and that's all that matters to me.
The film has a lot of potential and I really hope it keeps the streak of good video game adaptations going. I do plan on going with friends to see it in theaters. I'm almost a freaking adult, but I still can barely handle IT. I like the genre of horror, but I'm not a horror movie person. So Five Nights will be interesting....
That's really all I've got to say, FOR NOW. But I'm keeping my expectations cautiously optimistic because I don't want to go in with a negative approach, but I also want to be surprised.
And I'm done now.
:)
