The sun had barely been up when Y/n had left her life-long home behind but, after hours and hours of driving, it was already the afternoon and Y/n couldn't help but think if they'd serve any proper lunch once she arrived. After all, as good as it tasted, chocolate couldn't keep one's hunger away for too long.

Still, when the school came into sight, she couldn't help but feel nerves join hunger in her empty stomach. There was another limousine in the driveway and she remembered the rumors about kids from the Isle of the Lost coming into Auradon Prep alongside those from the North and Wonderland who accepted the invitations. Sadly, Y/n had been the only one to do so.

The second limousine skidded to a stop just as two boys tumbled out from the first one, wrestling on the ground over a scarf. Y/n could only hear the faltering music and the arguing of the two boys on the ground as the door was opened to her and she stepped out of the limousine at the same time as two girls stepped out from the other.

A woman Y/n knew to be Fairy Godmother made her way through the welcoming marching band as Y/n made her way towards the four kids from the Isle of the Lost, stopping at a respectable distance from them. A girl in purple hit the boys, her expression showcasing embarrassment as she hissed at them to get up.

"Just cleaning up," said the taller boy with long brown hair, giving an innocent smile to Fairy Godmother and the rest of the welcoming crew. Y/n stifled a laugh as the tall boy pulled the other up from the ground, instead busying herself with fiddling with the head of one of her arrows.

"Leave it like you found it. And by that I mean just leave it," Fairy Godmother sang with a somewhat forced smile, prompting the boy with brown hair to toss everything back into the limousine.

Y/n stood there awkwardly as the boy with brown hair made his way to the front, a sly smile on his face as he spotted a girl on Fairy Godmother's left side. "Hello, foxy," he greeted flirtatiously, looking the girl up and down as he crossed his arms. "The name's... Jay."

Y/n wrinkled her nose in discomfort, for she knew she'd never want to be in a situation like that.

The girl forced a laugh, seemingly sharing Y/n's opinion.

Fairy Godmother went to the rescue of the very princess-like girl by leaning in between the boy, who'd introduced himself as Jay, and the girl. "Welcome to Auradon Prep. I'm Fairy Godmother, headmistress." She curtsied.

"The Fairy Godmother?" the girl in all purple asked curiously, her knees bending as she subconsciously mirrored Fairy Godmother's curtsy. "As in... bibbidi-bobbidi-boo?"

Y/n smiled a bit as the girl waved her hand around to indicate the wand. She couldn't help but think that the girl reminded her a bit of her maid, who was one of her best friends back home.

"Bibbidi-bobbidi. You know it," Fairy Godmother nodded solemnly.

"Yeah, I always wondered what it felt like for Cinderella when you just appeared out of nowhere," the girl in purple went on, her curious tone sounding a bit too curious for Y/n's liking.

She was wary of the villains because in the North and in Wonderland, which she'd visited many times, villains weren't trapped away on an island and she knew exactly how they could get if they wanted something.

"With that sparkling wand and warm smile," the girl in purple continued with a small laugh, pulling Y/n out of her inner dilemma. "And that sparkling wand..."

Okay now that's a bit suspicious, Y/n decided, her hand's grip around her bow tightening out of instinct.

"That was a long time ago. And as I always say: don't focus on the past or you'll miss the future." Fairy Godmother gestured wildly as she spoke, making Y/n chuckle quietly. From the corner of her eye she saw the shorter boy with white-and-black hair glance at her for a moment but it didn't seem like anyone but him noticed her reaction to the rather silly quote.
