chapter three || why are you in poetry class if you can't write.

They won the game. Calum scored the only goal. He was amazing. Literally amazing, he could probably go professional. He was sweating, and he had dirt all over his jersey.

Luke and I walked down the bleachers. Luke was really nice, and funny. I guess Luke and Calum were over the little fight from yesterday.

"Are you cold?" Luke asked as we reached the bottom of the bleachers.

The soccer team was crossing the field now, and I could spot Calum from a mile away. He had a straight face, and his hair was sticking to his forehead from all the sweat.

"No, I'm fine," I smiled, "thanks though."

"Are you and Calum going somewhere after this?" Luke asked, staring down at me. I don't think he meant to, but he was so tall so he couldn't help it.

"He's coming to my house. We were going to start writing the poem assigned yesterday," I told him, tucking a piece of my hair behind my ear.

Calum approached us with a huge grin on his face. He pulled Luke in for a hug. They did their little hand shake before he made his way over to me.

He snaked his arm around my waist, pulling me in for a small hug. He smelt surprisingly good for someone who just played a football game.

"Thanks for coming," Calum smiled, his brown eyes meeting my green ones.

"You were amazing! Your goal was beautiful," I told him. I couldn't help but smile because he was so happy.

"Thanks Laila," Calum laughed, "Luke I'll see you later alright?"

Calum and Luke said their goodbyes. Calum threw his soccer jacket over me, without even asking if I was cold or not. We walked to his jeep, it was all black.

Calum and I walked up to my room. It was around five o'clock and my mom was suppose to be home at seven. Calum threw his sweater on the floor and plopped onto my bed.

"So, what do you want to write about?" Calum sighed, sitting up straighter.

I was standing directly in front of him, and he had the biggest smirk on his face, "I don't know. You're the poet."

"You're the other poet," Calum shot back, standing up to stretch.

"I don't write poetry," I frowned, "I suck."

Calum laughed, "Why are you in poetry class if you can't write?"

"That was the only class left," I told him honestly, shrugging. I sat down next to him, and he rested his head on my shoulder.

"Or, you heard about this sexy boy in Sydney who was so irresistible by the name of Calum, you couldn't resist being in the same class as him," Calum said in a sing-song voice.

"You're ugly," I rolled my eyes.

"You're ugly," he mocked.

I couldn't help but laugh. Calum laughed too as we both fell back on the bed. The crinkles by his eyes were showing so I knew it was a genuine laugh.

"Okay, we have to start now," I said trying my best to catch my breath.

"We could write about heartbreak , the sky, grass, girls. Anything you name it," Calum said, running his hands through his hair.

"I don't have any inspiration," I frowned, taking off my cardigan.

"Tomorrow I'll show you inspiration. For now, we lay down," Calum sighed, pulling me back down.

His arms were wrapped around my body loosely, and he closed his eyes.

"Did you talk to Kelsey yet?" I asked, instantly regretting it. I didn't want to get him mad.

"Of course not. I like not talking to her. I have no interest in her whatsoever," Calum said softly, his eyes remaining shut.

"Calum! You're so mean. You slept with her," I scowled at him, slapping his arm playfully.

"Ive slept with a lot of girls. I would never be with her, or any of them," Calum told me, his brown eyes opening finally.

"You're gross," I laughed, "You're so negative."

"You're so positive," Calum groaned, "Keep your positivity away from me."

I laughed, "No one says that. It's keep your negativity away."

"Well I just started something new didn't I? Can't I get a star for being original?" Calum asked, doing his best puppy dog impression.

"No," I told him, shuffling a little.

"Fine," Calum said awkwardly, laughing at himself.
