after her sister left with a very poppy like departure noa had decided to spend some time alone in her and conrad's room whilst he was off with cleveland.

the girl closed her book sighing as she began to prepare herself to go downstairs and face belly after what happened, as she descended the staircase noa couldn't help but notice the mess that was made in the kitchen and the missing adults, as well as jeremiah and steven missing from the scene. 

assuming he was outside noa moved to find conrad in the back yard, until she was met with his voice and another's, belly.

"last night, you and i almost kissed" 

"did we?" conrad asked, "i was pretty wasted i don't remember much"

noa moved so she could watch the pair interact through the door opening,

"wait, are you serious?" belly was annoyed

"okay, we almost kissed, but i have a girlfriend that i love" conrad's words making the girl frown, "what do you want me to say, i'm sorry i'm in a relationship?"

"are you sorry?"

"i don't know, you tried to kiss me" he shook his head

"well you didn't exactly try to stop me" she rolled her eyes

"well i should have" he shrugged, "and i will forever owe jere for saving my relationship because i was so drunk i wanted to kiss you"

"wow aren't you kind, a guy has to be drunk to even consider kissing me?" belly grew angry

"we both know that's not what i meant, stop being a brat and have some respect for noa"

"oh my god it's always noa this, noa that, i broke up with cam for you" belly was fuming

"i didn't ask you to do that!" conrad yelled before calming down, "i really didn't ask you to do that"

"you didn't have to, conrad we're supposed to be together, you and noa are just temporary", noa couldn't believe what she was hearing, here she was trying to be nice to belly and she acted like this

"i love her belly, and i don't love you, not like that"

"but conrad-"

"no, i'm sorry about you and cam, but this isn't going to happen, and it wasn't after i met noa" conrad shook his head walking towards the door, making noa run to the kitchen

the james girl occupied herself cleaning up the kitchen to make it look as though she wasn't eavesdropping on their conversation, lifting her head as her boyfriend entered the kitchen, followed by an angry belly storming upstairs.

"hey" the girl smiled

"hey" he smiled in return before looking at what she was doing, "you really don't have to clean up their mess noa"

"i'm a guest, your mom is kind enough to let me stay here for the summer, the least i can do is clean up a little mess" she shrugged

"you're too good for this world," conrad chuckled before sighing, "you're too good for me"

"now why would you say that?"she smiled confused

"i have to tell you the truth about last night"

"what truth" now the girl was really confused, there was more to the story?

"i didn't stop the kiss, the got was stopped but it wasn't me, jere and poppy were trying to light a firework and accidentally shot it towards us, it made us jump apart" conrad shook his head at his own actions

the boy was met with silence from his girlfriend,

"noa?"

"i know"

"you know?" conrad's brows furrowed,

"poppy and jere told me a few hours ago, they thought i knew the real story" she shrugged

"oh"

"yeah oh"

"i'm so sorry noa" the boy apologised

"it seems like you've been saying that a lot recently" she rolled her eyes, "what's up with you, you've been moody with everyone else but not me, but as soon as we got to cousins you've just been a dick to me, have i done something?"

"god no, you've done nothing wrong" he paused, "i'm just going through some stuff right now"

"well i hope when you're ready to talk to about it with someone other than cleveland, you come see me" she reached her hand out to soothe his arm

"how did you know about cleveland?"

"i know you conrad fisher" she smiled, but that was how the james girl had a feeling this summer may be where their relationship ends, but she wouldn't think about that now.

a few hours had passed, everyone had fought for themselves for dinner, and now noa was on the balcony looking over the pool, noticing as belly was joined by jeremiah for a night swim, the pair oblivious to the james girl watching,

noa watched as the pair stared at each other moving closer to one another, belly moved to wrap her legs around jeremiah, causing noa's mouth to fall open.

the girl couldn't even believe her own eyes as the pair moved to kiss, here was isabel conklin trying to kiss her boyfriend before being turned down, so she made her move on his younger brother, this girl needed a reality check, and noa feared she would have to be the one to give it.
