❝ he ran. he ran like hell, only to realize he will always be found. ❞

THe parlor was silent, tensions were high and every vampire in the room could feel it.

even jongho, the calm and collected vampire of the lot, was uneasy.

yunho paced the room, wringing his hands continuously, his nerves abundant. "what if—

"the boy will pull through," seonghwa interrupted. "there is no need to concern ourselves," though his words did little to reassure any of them. even seonghwa himself sounded weary and unconvinced.

"he is the rightful king to vamporia, no," mingi questioned, brow quirked. "that threatens the king's rule, why is he so desperate to keep him alive?"

seonghwa's gaze avoided the others as they, too, wondered. "truth be told, the king did not mind all that much when san pulled the stunt he did," he began walking elegantly to the window, arms clad behind his back.

"his only intention was to cause a scene for the rest of us as a warning and one final lesson for san, no one is to go against our king. his original plan was to let san and the boy perish, this all would pass. yeosang would have no worry about the boy taking his throne," seonghwa paused.

"however, as we divulged ourselves into the history of vamporia, it seems this place was not always home to vampires. we also found out that if the true king, the lost king, were to cease to exist—

"vamporia and all those residing there would cease to exist also," jongho finished for him, his mouth etched in a worrisome frown.

"precisely," seonghwa concluded. "that is why yeosang made the decision to save san. he had no choice, so he could save his pet, in order to save us all. that is also the reasoning of yeosang's addition to the clan. it is his hope wooyoung will keep san in check and not harm the boy."

the vampires all exchanged troubled glances.

"that also means our king must mark him and court him as soon as he wakes, if he wakes, to ensure his immortality," mingi added.

"and," jongho pushed himself off the hearth of the fire place, adding a rather dramatic affect. "it is imperative that the boy never finds the truth," there was another pause.

"because he has the power to rid of us all, despite being only a human."

THe vampires' hushed whispers fell silent as the king waltzed into the room, an unreadable expression evident.

everyone looked to their king for answers. after a few tense moments, the king let out a breath, nodding slightly. "it is done. hongjoong will be alright."

the other vampires cheered gleefully at the news, breaking into smiles.

"will the troubled one stay away since the bond is complete," mingi bowed his head slightly, questioning the king.

"choi san has agreed to the terms of our deal; his life and his love, in exchange for his obedience and to never speak of this mess again," yeosang paused, the others looking to him.

"you look troubled," seonghwa's palm came to rest on the small of the king's back. "what is it, brother?"

"the human wishes one more fortnight as his own person, so i have left him to rest comfortably," and with those words, the room erupted in chaos.

"my king, please forgive me for questioning your judgement but—

"are you insane," mingi put it not so delicately, interrupting yunho. "forgive the harsh words, your majesty, but we have no time for pleasantries. if he is up for grabs, what of san?"
