CHAPTER 13:The Forever Fall

Pov:Nobody

Y/n tosses his jar up, and down as Ruby tails him from behind he turn to her with a warm smile now speaking up.

Y/n:"Seem's your sticking with me awfully close, sure you don't want to hang with Yang instead?"

Ruby:"No way! I wanna stick with you, I want to know more about you than you just being some really cool martial artist!"

Y/n:"Hm. . .fine fine, I guess I don't really explain my history do I?"

Ruby lets out a silent "Yes...!" Seeming to have got what she wanted so easily as she quickly skips over walking by Y/n's side now, staring at me eagerly.

Y/n:"So what do you want to know?" 

Ruby:"So. . .uh, well I don't know if this is a touchy subject what's with the with letters on your back?"

Y/n:"Oh, it translates to my family name, Chizǐdàn, Chi means essence of life, and Zǐdàn means Bullet, which could translate to many things really, it's a complicated spiral of theories you can come up with, I just like to think it means the bullet of life, still doesn't make sense but. . .hey! It sounds cool I suppose. . ."

Ruby:"Well, I think it sounds cool!"

Y/n:"Thank you Ruby. . ."

Y/n turned to her with a wide smile, as Ruby's eyes widened staring at his face, her cheeks tinted with pink for a moment before returning the smile nodding now.

Ruby:"So why don't you use a weapon Y/n?"

Y/n:"I was never taught many things to use, besides a rope dart, and a staff."

Ruby:"Then why don't you-"

Y/n:"They break easily."

Ruby:"Ohhhhh....Well! When are you going to get yourself an actual weapon? That's all complex, and stuff y'know?"

Y/n:"I do have these wristbands, I can slot dust in them helps me enhance my attacks."

Ruby:"Oooo....Well that means you get throw dust left, and right huh?"

Y/n:"I suppose. . .well you never told me much about you, at the interrogation room you spoke highly of your uncle Qrow, who is he?"

Ruby's face lights up hearing Y/n ask this question as she prepares herself to give a really long explanation as she clears her throat preparing to tell the story of her Uncle Qrow.

Ruby:"He's my uncle! He taught me how to use a Crescent Rose!"

Y/n:"I see, is he hunter?"

Ruby:"Mhm! He's super cool, very relaxed I know you'll like him!" 

Ruby said with a wide grin now barely containing her excitement almost jumping up, and down in a rapid pace, Y/n placed a hand over her shoulder calming her down as she soon eased up, her usual smile returning, as the two walked down the path, Y/n noticed the tree was leaking out some sap, he nudged Ruby's shoulder walking towards the tree seeing it was high up he turned to Ruby.

Y/n:"Lemme boost you up."

Ruby:"W-Wait what?!"

Y/n:"What? You climb over my shoulder, and use your jar to scoop up the Sap-"

Ruby's entire skin was tinted pink seeming to be flustered by this proposal before nodding hesitantly, walking over to Y/n as he gave her back to her, she hopped up clinging onto his back before quickly climbing over resting her legs over his shoulders, Y/n stepped fourth letting her lean closer to the tree she still seems sheepish by this interaction but she does what she has to do, she motions her jar to the sap, scooping it into the jar, after some time she fully filled the jar with sap closing it's lid, as Y/n remained silent he had a puzzled look over his face, Ruby looked down at him tilting his head before shrugging it off, giving Y/n the Jar filled with sap, he took it keeping a good grip on her thighs making sure she doesn't fall as Y/n leaned down lightly while Ruby held onto the tree for stabilization, Y/n set the jar down before leaning back up Ruby let go of the tree taking the second jar, filling the sap with it as there was a long akward silence between the two.

Y/n:". . . .Ruby?"

Ruby:"Eh?"

Y/n was hesitant at first not wanting to say what he has to say but he realized it's probably for the better as Ruby filled up the last jar handing it to Y/n, Y/n placed the jar on the floor before speaking up.

Y/n:"Why does it smell like the sea?"

Ruby:"WHAT!?"

Ruby's legs locked around Y/n's face as she was becoming a stuttering mess finding whatever she can to hold onto, as Y/n began losing his balance staggering around, her hands, and even legs tightened around Y/ns face as he lost his footing Y/n fell back, Ruby shrieked while falling, as the two crashed to the floor with a loud THUD! Ruby groaned as she rubbed her back in pain, before looking around seeing Y/n isn't around anymore before staring down realizing she landed right on his face her face became even more tint of red as some footsteps echoed, Ruby looked to her left seeing Yang, Pyrrah, Weiss, Nora, Ren, and Blake they all stared at the two as the sight was rather. . .suggestive before Yang was able to say a tease, Ruby just screamed out of desperation.

Ruby:"IT'S NOT WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE!!"

Y/n:"Ow. . . ."
