BACKSTORY OVERVIEW ⋆ Kenji Yang was born and raised in Toronto, Canada. His immediate family consists of hismelf, his parents and his younger sister, Jiana.
Kenji has always loved music. Specifically, the songwriting aspect. Growing up, Kenji would write verses, bridges, and random parts of a song while slowly putting them all together. He and his friends would perform his songs for fun.
When SM announced a global audition, Kenji was the first at the door. He performed one of his own original songs. The staff was stunned from his vocals and songwriting skills. Kenji was quickly offered a trainee and songwriting position, which he quickly accepted.
The Yang family was on the way to Seoul. When the WHITE SWAN trainee project started, he was offered to join part of it to train to be an official SM songwriter. However, that changed when he was "caught" singing.
That's when Kenji became the siren vocalist of WHITE SWAN and later, DAHLIA.
