Jace's POV
As promised, Raine's parents had sent the contract already signed by her, I didn't expect her to sign it but she did, I'm not surprised tho.
When I told Ryan I was going to marry her, he thought I was joking until I showed him the contract her parents and her had signed.
He knew why I was keen on having her as my wife, he knows I want revenge and funny enough he has been telling me to let go, but I won't, not until I get the satisfaction I want.
But what I didn't expect the very next day, was a raging Raine in my office, telling me she wouldn't get married to me, it made me wonder if she signed those papers in her dreams.
She can act really well, but I proved to her that I can also be whatever I want to be, and right now I am a revenge hungry monster, a monster she created.
I couldn't help but notice how she flinched when I raised my hands the other time, did she think I was gonna hit her?
I'm a lot of thing, but I'd never put my hands on a woman, ever.
She was standing with her back to me, when I told her I'd tell the cops she killed her husband.
Of course I was only bluffing, I didn't even know if she did it or not, I was just speaking on a hunch and it was working.
She looked pale, from where I was standing, I got so close to her that my lips were brushing against her earlobes.
I am beginning to wonder if she actually killed her husband or she's just being paranoid, the Raine I know would never hurt a fly, but of course that Raine died the day she left me.
She didn't look at me or say anything else to me, she just started walking out and I had a smirk on my face.
"Don't forget the wedding's in a week, so get ready" I voiced out but she just kept going making me wonder if she heard me.
I walked back to where my chair was and sat on it, four years ago she broke my heart, and now I'm going to crush hers and every dignity she ever had in her.

Today I was taking her to see my Step mother, Ryan's biological mother, my own mom died when I was still a kid, dad remarried Ryan's mother and she has been like a mother to me ever since then.
She was one of the people that helped me when Raine left me, she encouraged me to become better.
She'll be surprised if she saw Raine was the girl I was getting married to, of course she doesn't know I'm only marrying her for revenge and nothing more.
We were driving in silence, she was putting on a blue gown, it was well fitted and she packed her hair up in a bun.
Her face was void of any make up, that hasn't changed about her, she always hated make up, even when we were together, she said it was a waste of time.
She still looked beautiful even without them, if you didn't know what she's capable of doing you'd say she's an angel, a saint and a very innocent person.
But she was far from all these things, she was worse than a snake.
We got to the house, and I parked.
"In there, we're a loving couple, my step mom must never find out that this whole thing is arranged" I tell her not glancing at her.
She just looks at me before going out of the car, she knows better than to go against me, I have a lot of leverage on her.
We walk towards the door and I take her hand in mine, her palm was sweaty and warm, my large hands consumed hers completely.
She was nervous, I know this because she gets sweaty palms whenever she's nervous, I look at her and see she's trying to look brave.
After the first ring, the door swings open with Melissa standing on the other side a huge smile on her face.
She pulls me in for a hug "oh Jace, it's good to have you visit us" she said and I just laugh before wrapping my hands around her
"Mel, I always visit and you know that" I tell her cocking a brow at her as she let's me go and her eyes finds the person standing next to me.
Her mouth parts in a gasp as her eyes widen in shock and surprise, before she does something that shock me and even Raine.
She pulls her in for a big hug "oh my God Raine, is this really you"? She says hugging her and I see Raine tense before hugging her back.
She whispers a small yes as Mel let's go off her and takes a good look at her.
"You look beautiful, it's been what? Four years"? She asks and Raine just smiles.
"You look good too Mel" she whispers out and Melissa quickly ushers us in, I stand close to her as we both walk into the house
Melissa goes straight to the kitchen, talking about setting the table and just on cue Ryan walks down the stairs and his eyes look from me to Raine.
She looks tense and unsure of what to say so she just whispers "Hi Ry"
He walks further towards us and pulls her into a hug, resting his head on her hair, he has always been fond of her, even when she left, he never hated her for it
"I missed you so much Raine" he mutters into her hair and she laughs lightly, before he let's her go.
"I missed you too Ry" she whispers out and Mel walks out the kitchen to tell us the table's been set.
We file into the kitchen and take our seats, she had relaxed a bit but that was because I haven't told everyone why we're here, although Ryan knows but Melissa doesn't.

"Are you sure about this Jace"? Melissa asks with worry and I nod with a smile.
We were currently upstairs after I had just told them of my intentions with Raine, she excused us both so she could talk to me privately.
"Yes Mel I'm sure, I still love her and I'd rather be with her than anyone" I said with conviction but that was a lie.
I know why I decided to marry Raine and I can't let Melissa know, she looks at me for a while
"But isn't it too soon, I mean you just met her again after four years and you want to get married to her in less than a week, and let's not forget that she left you for another man"?
"I know Mel, but love is crazy you know and I don't want to delay Mel, the earlier the better" I say wriggling my brows
"I just hope you know what you're doing" she breath out, I know she cares for me and all but she doesn't know I don't love Raine anymore, it's all for Revenge.
She walked down leaving me standing there deep in thoughts.
I want to get married to her before she finds out in bluffing and I know nothing about her husband's death.
In less than a week, she's be my wife but only on paper because there's no way in hell, I'd treat her like my wife.
She lost that privilege four years ago
