THURSDAY: MORNING
8:00am
Amy's pov
It's been two days since I've accommodated Maria. She turned out to be a sweet soul; maybe a little too sweet for her own good. She was kind and pure; nothing like the other girls my age I've met. No wonder Shadow misses her. She and Cream would get along just fine. She was also getting a hang of sending messages and making phone calls on her own. With more practice, she'll master it in no time.
Amy- Ok try calling me once more, just to make sure you've maintained it.
Maria- Ok.
Maria dials Amy's number then calls it. Amy's phone starts to ring.
Amy- Well done. *smiles*
Maria smiles back
Amy gets up from her bed.
Amy- And that seems like a good place to wrap things up. I'm gonna go get started on breakfast. You're gonna love what I have in store.
Maria gets up from her bed, feeling a little excited.
Maria- Can I help?
Amy- Sure.
They enter the kitchen. Amy opens the cupboard and takes out two bags of HoMade Savory Royals Crackers, a butter knife and a jar of Skippy peanut butter, then hands them to Maria.
Amy- Make as many tiny sandwiches as you can with these. I'll get started on the tea.
Maria- Ok
Amy's pov
I've had hot chocolate on Monday, but I don't mind having it again today. Besides, it goes so well with the peanut butter and crackers; wasn't gonna let Maria miss out on that now was I? I used Lasco Hot Chocolate mix with those egg sandwiches that day, but this time, I'll be using Swiss Miss chocolate tea mix with these crackers. I pulled out two packs of the chocolate powder and added them to the mugs. I also added some condensed milk to make it more milky. I added water to kettle and turned up the heat a bit. When it was ready, I poured in both mugs then starting stirring. I was now done with the tea. I turned around to see that Maria was finished with the sandwich biscuits, having them laid out on a platter.
Amy- Nicely done, now we can eat.
They fix the table, then transfer the breakfast to it.
Maria takes up a PB sandwich biscuit and eats it, she then takes a sip of her warm tea. Her face lit up; she was indeed delighted.
Maria- This is... so good! All my life I've had milk tea, crackers and peanut butter with other kinds of foods, but never all three together. If I knew their combination would be this delicious, I would've had them frequently.
Amy smiles then takes a sip of her tea.
Amy- I'm glad you like it. The thought of it came to me when I opened the cupboard. I was a beautiful sunny day when I first tried it. Somehow it just fits with the vibes of the morning. I had never been so amazed during breakfast time. I just had to let you try it.
Maria- You're right, it really does give you an enjoyable feeling. I really like it, it's yummy.
Amy looks down, going through her mind.
Amy's pov
I wonder if I'll find a decent place to rent once we leave this hotel. I could always find a motel, but I need somewhere steady enough to call home after training with Mr.Wong.
Maria- Amy?
It would also be best to take up a job too; to keep me on my feet.
Maria- Amy?
Once Maria finishes her training, she'll probably continue her search for Shadow. Hopefully she'll be able to find him after we part ways.
Maria- Aaaaaamyyyyyyyy...
Amy- Huh?
Maria- You looked like you were lost in your thoughts. Is everything alright?
Amy- I'm fine.
Maria- If you say so.
Maria's pov
Just now, Amy looked like she was concerned about something, but refused to say what it was. I hope it wasn't anything bad or that I didn't upset her in any way.
Amy- Wanna watch some MSA videos with me?
Maria- What is MSA?
Amy- It's a YouTube channel that stands for My Story Animated. The channel provides narrative content.
Maria- What kinds of stories?
Amy- There are different kinds of stories. Without a doubt, you'll find some to your liking; although some of the video titles aren't very honest about the stories.
Maria- I see. Then I'd like to see some of these MSA videos.
Maria says this with cheer, Amy smiles. After washing the dishes and putting everything away, they spend the rest of the morning watching MSA videos.
4:00pm
Amy's pov
I realized that Maria seems to like the "follow your heart" stories. She was really rooting for Sophie, a girl who had to fake amnesia to escape her childhood friend, Tom, and to be with Pierre, who was forced to date a girl he didn't love at the time. I guess I could see why. Sophie had been kinda smothered by Tom, who didn't realize that what he had wasn't love, but obsession. In the end, Sophie comes clean to him about her fake condition and why she did it. He understood and finally decides to let her go, accepting things as they are. She also convinces him to get therapy, to which he agrees. Pierre later confronts Sophie and confesses his love for her. He also reveals to her the truth about why he was with Beth. It appears that his dad laid a condition on him to find a girl to marry and take over the family's business, so he had to propose to a girl he was never in love with just to please his father, but the pressure to settle on a date for marriage had been too much for him and he had escaped to his family's villa for a break. That's when he met Sophie and everything changed. After she left, he finally sees the mistake he had made and went back to set things straight with his father and ended things with his fiance. Sophie comes clean to him about her fake condition, which he surprisingly takes well. They forgive each other and he pulls her in for a kiss. I really do enjoy these stories, but there are times when I just can't help but feel bad. Either in animated stories or in real life, people were a lot luckier, than I ever was. I've lost count of all the times I felt... alone.
Maria- Amy?
Amy- *turns her head* Huh?
Maria- You were getting lost in your thoughts again. Are you sure everything's ok?
Amy- I'm ok, don't worry.
Amy smiles
Maria- You say that, but I can't help but notice you leaving reality from time to time. If you need someone to talk to, I'll be happy to listen, ok?
Amy- Yeah, thanks.
Maria gets up and walks to the bathroom.
Amy- And Maria?
Maria- *turns around* Yes?
Amy- Since you'll be staying with me for a while, there's a lot more meals for me to introduce you to.
Maria smiles.
Maria- And I'll be looking forward to them.
After she returns, they decide to talk more about their likes, dislikes and interests, over rounds of Minecraft on their phones.
