Kayce was back and has been living in the bunkhouse. Me, him and my dad were having a meeting with Beth.
  "Kayce, I think its time you move out of the bunkhouse, you can't run this place in there."  Our dad said.
   "Oh big brother, finally coming back to the family are we?" I say sarcastically. "WAIT RUN THIS PLACE, DAD ARE YOU FUCKEN SERIOUS." I yell.
    "Yes Oakley, kayce needs to learn."
    "Learn, your telling me I have been at you becken call doing everything for you and now all the sudden you give it to kayce who hasn't been back and doesn't even like the place?"
    "Screw you, i need a place to stay." Kayce says
     "Don't fucken talk to me like that, kayce you just need a place because your wifey kicked you out, rightly so."
     "You two please." Our dad begged and Beth laughed.
     "Sorry kayce, but I would have to agree with Oakley on this one, you left she has been working her ass off."
    "Its my choice and kayce, your going to move into foremans house." Our dad said.
    "Wait wait, what about rip?" I questioned.
     "Rip will move into the bunkhouse."
      "What the fuck, hell no, no no dad think about this for a second, rips been doing work for you well before kayce left, and then he did and rip has never left your side. What would Lee say..." I ramble on about.
   "Oakley, rips not going to mind." My dad says.
   "Not gonna care, dad you literally taking the only home he has ever had." I turn to kayce. "And you taking that from him, just because, you can keep a steady home life."
   "Daddy if you told rip to jump in a volcano he would." Beth says backing me up.
   "Oakleys just defending him, because she has a crush." Kayce say, I turned to kayce "fuck you, for leaving, for think you can just come back and own the place." I say hitting him in the head.
     "Jesus Christ. Please, kayce send rip up to the house." My dad says sighing
    "Yeah, I ain't taking orders from him." I say pointing to kayce walking out and I slam the door.
     "Daddy that was a fucken train wreck, and honestly bullshit, kayce doesn't deserve that position. The only reason you are doing it is cause mom. And that ain't fair on Oakley and you know it." Beth says, walking out. I was sitting on the front porch and watched rip walk up slowly.
    "I am letting you know now, I did my best to fight it and won't stop fight it." I say to rip walking up the steps.
    "Darlin,you don't have to fight for me." He said almost sadly.
     "But you get to fight for me? Hell no rip I am gonna keep fighting." Rip gives me a sad smile and walks the the door.

It's the first day that kayce is foreman we are moving cattle and the new guy walker tried to run off rip went to stop him and kayce disagreed with the way he was doing it. They decided to fight.
   "Dad you stop this right now or you tell rip to fight, not going easy on kayce." I say to him while rip dismount his horse, chaps still on. They were the same chaps rip has always wore and he loves then to death.
    "You know what, Oakley if you disagree so much with this fine who ever wins gets foreman position, RIP COME HERE." My dad yells. He pulls him in close.
   "Whoever wins gets foreman position, rip no going easy." My dad whispered in rips ear and he nodded.
    "Give him hell rip." I whispered as rip walked past me. They started swinging at each other and for a good 5 minutes this went on. Rip was winning by a lot. Even though kayce was in the navy, rip was just bigger. After one last punch rip knocked kayce to the ground. Rip stands straight up and looks at the cowboys.
   "If you want to fight someone on the ranch you fight me." Rip says looking around. He walked over to my dad as a few of the cowboys helped kayce up.
   "Well done rip." My dad says gruffly. Rip nodded and walked off to the cowboys.
   Kayce limped over to us.
     "Fine I will move into the God damn main house, and rip can have the stupid job." Kayce says spitting blood. "He got stronger then I last remember." I chucked.  Kayce walked over to me.
    "Oakley all he is is a stray puppy. Who lost his mommy and daddy, we don't want lost dogs In the family." Kayce had the guts to say.
     "Yeah well that quote on quote stray puppy, just beat your ass." I say turning to rip.
   " that needs stitches." I say pointing to the cut on rips face.
    "I'll be fine." He says back.
    "Hmm, you always have been stronger then him, he's just jealous rip." I say
    "Yeah well, I don't even care about the house, or the job, it's just he didn't deserve it, he ain't done shit if anyone deserves it. it's you." He says mounting his horse.

Authors note.

  Just letting yall know kayce and Oakleys relationships will get better , and rip and Oakleys really starts to pick up. I didn't like the idea of kayce winning so for the sake of the story rip won, keeping the foremans position and keeps the house. Oakley will meet tate after her and kayce make up.
