Nordica's POV

It's been a week since Jake and I got our ikran. Jake become part of the tribe in five days. After going through the dream hunt. He has been practicing his aerial hunting with Neytiri. I've flown Rosa everyday to keep our bond strong and to get used to the feel of flying. Because unlike Jake, I'm more of a horse person. He claims he was born to fly.

Jake, Grace and I will be returning to base tomorrow for a supply run. Also for me to have a check up on my twins. Because even though Mo'at checks me every few days. My human body hasn't had a check up since we moved to the mountain base.

Everything is set for me to do the transfer in a week. But I have a feeling something bad is going to happen. Mo'at has told me not to worry and to take it easy. As stress isn't good for my babies. So I've focused on doing the final touches of my swaynivi and added to my song cord about bonding with Rosa. I've even chosen a place to hang my swaynivi with Mo'at help.

Anyway, Jake and Neytiri are out flying again today. I decided to bath Ju'li, as I hadn't spent much time with her since I got Rosa and feel bad about it. We had gone on a ran together. "We will ride again soon" I assure her and she neighs nudging me gently. I smile and pat her head fondly. Before leading her back to the herd and release her.

I head back to home tree and I'm surprised to see Jake & Neytiri back already. "Jake, Neytiti I see you" I say in greeting. They return it. I notice we are at the totem skull of the Great Leonopteryx. Jake reaches up to touch the tall indigo crest. "Why are you back early?" I ask them confused.

"We were attacked by this" Jake states gesturing to the skull and I look at him shocked. "Neytiri is about to tell me the story behind it" he adds. We both look at Neytiri who crouches down beside the totem.

"My grandfather's grandfather was Toruk Macto, Rider of Last Shadow. Toruk chose him. It has only happened five times since the time of the First Songs" Neytiri tells us.

"That's a long time" Jake comments.

"Shush" I say wanting to hear the story. Neytiri takes our hands, because that's what the Na'vi do when they're telling you something important.

"Toruk Macto was mighty he brought the clans together in a time of great sorrow. All Na'vi people know this story" she tells us. Then tells us the story. I pray Toruk's return s not a sign of a new great sorrow.

(Next day)

My check up went well. While I was with the doctors, Jake and Grace had linked with their avatars in the link room. Jake was apart of the hunt today. Today is the hunt festival. It's a big deal for the na'vi, there will be a big celebration tonight. With lots to eat. Jake is one of the aerial hunters today. I wished him luck.

Anyway, after the hunt we were taken back to the mountain site. On the way Jake tells me about the hunt. The had hunted a herd of talioang, Jake even killed one of the ones that we'd eat tonight as the festival. As soon as we arrived, Jake and I linked with our avatars. While Grace told Norman about how it went at base. Before they join us.

The central space is lit by a bonfire, around which the hunt festival is in full swing. Wild dancing. People gnawing on massive talioang ribs. A bowl of some kava-like intoxicant is passed around. I avoid it as I grab some food. Before going to sit with my friends Aniu, Nikki and Cleo. Along with little Apollo and Nahko.

I spot Neytiri dancing in a flowing costume as the ikran spirit. I giggle when I see Norm is dancing seductively with his own tail. I think he had tried the kava. "So are you excited to becoming a true na'vi?" Cleo asks.

"Very excited, but nervous also" I state.

"You'll be fine" Aniu assures me.

"Are you going to dance?" Nikki asks me.

"Probably not" I state.

"But it is the way" Cleo tells me.

"Ok, maybe one dance" I relent. "But after I've eaten" I state. They nod their heads and we eat our food. I see Neytiri drag Jake over to the group of dancing Na'vi. The hunters whoop and cheer as Jake joins the circle of dancers. Jake takes Grace's hand and pulls her up, protesting.

I watch as Jake lets the drums and chanting flow through him. He lets himself go, dancing from the inside, channeling the primal energy. Grace is rocking out, grinning. Jake and Neytiri flow amongst the dancers, but they are looking only at each other.

I'm pulled from my observation by a small hand on my belly. I look down to see Apollo. I smile and pick him up. I finish eating then go dance with my friends, still carrying young Apollo. It was a fun night.

(Time skip)

It's two days before I do the transfer. Today Jake does the dream hunt and discovers his spirit animal. Then he will become part of the people. Grace has been trying to talk him out of doing the dream hunt. Saying it was to dangerous for an avatar. But he didn't listen and did it anyway.

I stand by Grace as we watched. As I am not a part of the people yet. I can not take part of the ceremony. Neither can Grace. We can only watch as Jake becomes part of the people. It's hard to believe it's only been three months since we first arrived at Home tree and now he is about to become part of the people.

Jake is covered in lines of white paint. Grace's eyes are brimming with tears of pride, relief and amazement. As Eytukan places both hands on Jake's chest and holds them there. "You are now a son of the Omaticaya. You are part of the People" Eytukan declares. All the members of the clan press forward, crowding around and putting their hands on Jake's shoulders, back, chest hands upon hands, until he is connected to everyone.

Afterwards, Jake washes the paint off and their is a huge celebration. He can now pick a mate. But I pray he doesn't. I'm not ready yet to see that. Even though I have gotten used to seeing him in the body meant for Tom. I am not ready to see it mated to another. Jake and I haven't had that talk, but I pray he has enough common sense not to rush into anything.
