Clay was the first one to awaken when dawn rose.

He yawned and rubbed his eyes before looking at George, who was still dozing off and using his backpack as a pillow.

While Tina stayed nearby, Clay noticed Nick and Karl sleeping, practically cuddling.

He only realized that there were only five of them and that Wilbur was nowhere to be visible.

He sensed someone approaching him quickly and he turned to see George waking up. He stood up and looked at Clay before saying, "G'morning, Clay," and smiling.

Clay smiled back and started to rise up, feeling a little energized now slowly. "I'm bored," he complained.

George stretched his arms and asked, "What do you want to do then?"

"Hmm, wanna go back to the playground?" asked Clay with a smile.

With a yawn, George replied, "Maybe later, we could just talk about something right now."

Clay replied, "Oh, okay," and sat down next to him on the floor.

He took his backpack and opened it, he grabbed some of the snacks he had and shared it with George.

He searched his backpack for something to do. All that was left when Clay eventually emptied his backpack was his craft supplies, one of George's drawings that he gave him, and his phone.

Clay pouted at this, and George laughed as he did so. The two then started talking while Clay put everything else back in his backpack.

George was worried about something while they were talking. He decided to tell him now rather than later because he has been thinking sadly about it lately.

George asked cautiously, "Hey Clay, will you- will you leave me here?" He then fumbled with the hem of his shirt to avoid making eye contact.

Clay asked, "Huh? What do you mean?" in a confused tone.

George asked softly, "Are you going to leave me here alone?" with a hint of sadness. "You told me your mom will come back for you," he said.
Although Clay was somewhat surprised by his inquiry, he responded in a way that he believes is reasonable.

Clay grinned, but George didn't return the smile. "Well- you don't have to be alone, you have Nick and Karl here, and Tina," Clay said.

George paused, his eyes beginning to flood with tears once more. "I-I know, but... I like it more when you're here," he said.

Clay reacted with an "Aww, okay," feeling of pity.

Clay had to concede that he doesn't mind remaining here longer as long as they can keep chatting and spend most of the time together.

And he was saddened by the thought of him going back to his home whilst leaving George alone to go to other people.

He was apprehensive about this. He'll eventually lose all the best friends he's ever had.

But to him, George was different. He's afraid that he has now grown feelings towards him and has now confessed to him. He's afraid that he now likes him and that he'll grow to love him more as time passes, but then they will never be in the same room again.

Clay looked up at George and said, "We can make the best of it while I'm here.

George returned the modest smile with, "Sure,"

When Nick emerged behind them, he almost scared them both as he attempted to push both of their heads together. Neither of them knew how long they had been sitting in that position next to each other.
