Clay's mom did come back for him, but at the wrong timing.

She was overcome with fear as she raced down the road at almost full speed.

Even though the road was deserted at the time, it took her close to forty minutes to arrive at her intended location.

When she saw police cars and ambulances pull up and park all around that building as she drew closer to it, her defeated expression said it all.

She stared and let out a breath she wasn't even aware that she was holding, before coming to a halt and gently getting out of her car.

The place was surrounded by yellow tape when she stepped out, which caused her to stop moving and remain still.

Turns out, she received a call from her son, Clay, and she was only able to hear the first few seconds of him screaming before it ended.

Beyond that, she had never attempted to phone back so quickly; still, she did end up phoning an emergency hotline, too so that they could also find the location.

She didn't move from where she was standing while she watched what was happening.

She then saw some people being escorted on stretchers as they exited the building, and she instantly recognized Clay as one of them.

She didn't care that one of the officers attempted to stop her from entering the yellow tape as she hurriedly ran in his direction.

When she got close to him, the first thing she noticed was his bruised and swollen face. He was also unconscious. One of the medical personnel stopped her as she urgently sought to reach out to him, when they attempted to give him and the other children on stretchers venturi masks for oxygen.

When she noticed one of the medics lead Clay close to one of the ambulances for additional medical assistance, she followed behind, glancing around at the scenario before her, being in a full state of disarray. But then she paused in her tracks.

Her attention was centered on a team of police officers leaving the building's entrance while accompanying a group of people wearing white coats.

Then, as she looked at each one individually, her eyes came on Niki, who was, uncannily, staring right back at her.

She watched Niki continuing to walk beside the others, their wrists being handcuffed to their backs as she kept staring at her, knowing damn well who that woman was.

She glanced at her son first then back to Niki, in which she already knew and made sense to her who was responsible for detaining every child into an endless nightmare in that building. Shaking, trembling, frightened, afraid, and scared.

Niki never broke eye contact with her. Niki expressed her no remorse nor a shred of guilt for what she and the others like her did despite their depths of depravity.

She was standing near of one of the police cars, and she knew that the person in front of her was nothing, but a ruthless, sadistic killer smirking back at her, and that's when she lost it, running towards Niki, fully attacking her as she fully pushed her to the ground.

However, with Niki being handcuffed in her back, there was nothing she could do, but to attempt to kick her whilst she struck back. Police officers got startled by it being sudden, then they continue focusing on holding her back while the others assisted Niki in standing up again.

More cops attempted to pull her away from Niki while she was still being violent towards her, not even seeing that the others had already been taken to the police cars.

Niki was then accompanied inside a police car. As soon as the officer closed the door to her side of the car, Niki threw her one more malevolent grin before the car began to drive away and soon vanished from her line of sight, with the other cars following behind.
