"These sure do look great," Lee Da-Eun, South Korea's current most talked about celebrity, says in a cool tone as she looks down at the camera.
She almost cringes looking at how much makeup has been lathered onto her skin but she can't complain. She looks gorgeous. Without this makeup, she'd probably be South Korea's most talked about celebrity for all the wrong reasons.
"Your favourite being?" The photographer looks up at Da-Eun, smiling that awful smile, flashing his perfect pearly whites. Da-Eun finds him pompous and arrogant and she can tell he's only being nice to her because of her status.
“The second one. Use that as the front cover,” Da-Eun smiles back at the photographer, flashing her own set of perfect pearly whites. The woman recalls a time when she had to brush her teeth fourteen times just to get them to look decent.
I really was disgusting.
She thinks to herself whilst the photographer picks up the camera and shows the editors her choice.
The studio around her is white with one single chair in front of her. Behind her is a team of people, working on computers, chatting and handing out a selection of clothes to other models.
Lee Da-Eun isn't a model. The public think she could be one but they've obviously not seen her face in it's natural state. Lee Da-Eun is a empress, holding the country, no, the world in her palm.
Lee Da-Eun first thought of LOVE PANG after reading a thread on Twitter.
It was about soulmates and fate. Lee Da-Eun herself never really believed in all that trash, having had her heart broken countless times. But after thinking on it, she thought about a way of knowing who your soulmate truly is so you aren't left second guessing.
Some assume Da-Eun invented LOVE PANG in fear she'd never find her own soulmate but that certainly isn't the case. Da-Eun knows that she doesn't have a soulmate. She made it for those who a desperate to find their true loves and die trying.
Nobody knows how she created the chip by herself alone in that small room of her's back when she lived with her parents, nobody knows how she managed to get the funds to create a dozen of those chips and nobody knows how the chip can actually tell who your soulmate is.
Da-Eun is tired of having people come up to her and tell her their theories like it's some guessing game. She's sworn herself to secrecy under orders of her subconscious. Da-Eun will take the ways of LOVE PANG with her to the grave. She will tell no-one of her plans.
It's a dog eat dog world and now, Da-Eun is a wolf.
