I join my usual friends for lunch, greeting both B/f/n and F/n happily.

When I notice one of them is missing in our foursome.

The one I have a bad crush on, C/n C/l/n, he joined our friend group after he befriended B/f/n in their elective a few years back.

"Hey, do you guys know where C/n is?"

I inquiry my pals as I sit down with my tray of school food.

"He's always the first one out at lunch."

I point out to the duo.

This isn't like him at all.

"He's over there, his chick won't leave homeboy alone."

Y/f/n directs me to him and I notice him from afar, pacing with his phone up to his ear appearing anxious.

You're on the phone with your girlfriend, she's upset.

She's going off about something that you said.

'Cause she doesn't get your humor like I do.

"Why is she even with him if she can't stand his elite humor even for a second?"

Y/b/f/n begins to rant.

"That's part of the packaged deal."

Y/b/f/n declares.

"Beats me.."

Y/f/n sighs.

His non-dominant hand is practically glued to his hair as he listens to whatever nonesense she spews at the poor boy.

After school

I'm in the room, it's a typical Tuesday night.

I'm listening to the kind of music she doesn't like.

And she'll never know your story like I do.

I wonder how he's doing.

I open my window and stare at the neighbor's window across from mine.

Hopefully he's not asleep.

I grab a small rock from my rock jar that I collected just for this sole purpose.

I lightly toss it into my hand as practice before chucking it at the closed and yellow curtained window.

A few minutes pass with no reply, well that's new.

I'm not really accustomed to him not responding.

I frown in dismay at the unfamiliar feelimg in my chest.

Well, hopefully everything's good with him and his girlfriend again.

But she wears short skirts.

I wear T-shirts.

She's Cheer Captain, and I'm on the bleachers.

Dreaming about the day when you wake up and find.

That what you're looking for has been here the whole time.

I think to myself about how different I truly am from his chosen partner.

I don't get them being together, but I'm no homewrecker.

Good luck to the two of them.

I sigh in defeat, before turning to walk away from the sad lonely scene.
