Chapter 23: Decieving Others Is My Job!

"Mmm, super delicious, Rabbie." Vinmir gushes, shoveling in red cheesecake. I let mine melt in my mouth. The sugar giving me a high.

"I made this." Xindachi mumbles, eating his up with ice cream. Daemon tenses up, eyes pried from his plate to Xindachi.

"Well you are amazing, my good sir." Red adds, taking note in Xindachi's anger. Rabbie chuckles, reaching for Daemon's hand. Daemon relaxes. I think Xindachi's mood bothers him. Xindachi pushes his plate away, getting up retreating from the dining hall. The slam of the door echoing in the hall. Daemon lowers his eyes, saddened.

"I apologize. This is rather...embarrassing." Daemon says, his voice not as life-like as before. "Xindachi has been acting out because I will not allow him to leave Labarynth. You see, Xindachi's best friend Pavelon wishes for them to meet up in the Gods Land. I cannot allow such a thing without proper safety of my precious boy."

"Is this where we come in?" Sachi asks, placing his spoon on the tip of his nose. Daemon grins.

"Exactly."

"Just give us the information and we'll do as we're told." I say, firmly, before bringing my fist down onto the table. Daemon flinches. "For a price that is."

"The whereabouts of Xyrin? Done. He's not real! There! Titan made sure that Xyrin was never separated from Xyrie." Daemon replies, I blink, confused.

"What?"

"The thing speaking to you in the tomb was a demon." Rabbie snickers, "I sent it to toy with you."

"Kiopi thinks...." I trail off, shaking my head furiously, standing up. Forcing myself to walk away.

"Xindachi is going with you. I've given what you requested, now I get what I want." Daemon says, cocky, sitting like a woman. A hand under his chin. Smirking, that bastard.

"I'm not waiting for some child!" I growl, throwing my hand ahead of me. The huge dining hall doors blast open falling off the hinges. Ajax scrambles to me, grabbing my shoulders.

"Calm down. We still ha-"

"Kiopi will die." I grumble, tears threatening to descend. Ajax sighs.

"You don't think I will either?" I stare up at him. Those blue orbs of his look defeated but still hold hope. Vinmir drags Sachi behind him. Sachi mumbling curse words.

"Let's go. I want to meet Hirmeus, the God of werewolves." Vinmir gushes, cupping his cheeks and giggling. "He's probably hot!"

"Hey!" Sachi hisses, glaring.

"I-I can go?" Xindachi questions, looking Daemon over.

"Yes, but stay there until Rabbie goes up to get you." Daemon instructs, crossing his arms. "Tell Yumina she's a fabulous bitch."

"Oh, okay." Xindachi responds, unsure yet entertained.

"Bye, guys. Stay safe." Rabbie says, waving at us in the main hall.

"If Xindachi gets hurt," Daemon chirps, happily, "I'll pluck your wings off, eat your eyeballs, feed your organs to my animals, and do the same to your mangy mutts."

"Hirmeus save us." Vinmir whimpers, rushing out of the door with Sachi hot on pursuit. I gulp.

"Sure, sure." I manage. Daemon's eyes flicker with satisfaction.

"Your skin will be my welcoming mat." He adds, grinning wide.

"Come on, Xindachi." Red says, ushering to him, eyes trained on Daemon cautiously.

"Be safe, children." Daemon bids us, waving like a kid.

"Personality disorder?" Ajax questions, once we begin our trek to the portal. My mind starts to entangle on the information given. Xyrin does not exist but Xyrie does. The land of Gods. Gods land, they said. Titan will be there.

Whack!

"That's my dad you're speaking of, jackass." Xindachi growls, wiping his hand on his pants. Ajax groans rubbing his head.

"Was that necessary?" He asks.

"Speak of my mom and I'll gut you like the fish you are." Xindachi warns, a huge sharp claw flicking from his finger just nudging under Ajax's chin. I stare. Ajax holds his hands up in defeat.

"Okay, okay. Calm down. We're all pretty." Sachi says, calmly, trying to get the tension down.

"Right, beautiful adventurers, we are." Vinmir chirps, dashing over a bridge. My eyes stay trained on him. Scared of the surroundings.

Later on...

"So you know a portal to the Gods land?!" Sachi shrieks at Talani.

"Well why not?" Talani answers with an effortless shrug. Wolves crowd around Xindachi.

"Wow." They gush in awe, oohing as his bunny ears flick up and down. Xindachi smirks, little dimples appearing on his puffy cheeks. His whiskers twitching near his nose as he chuckles. "So cute! It's really cool!"

"Well he seems to be enjoying himself?" Red says, pursing his lips watching. The female wolves talk about how cute and handsome Xindachi is while the male wolves ask him about Labarynth. Xindachi plays it off like nothing.

"I'd like to go see Kiopi. We need to check out the army there." I say, laying my arm out and resting my head. Sighing, deeply. "I worry about his well-being because Ulin is a God and he was leaving Kiopi too."

"It wasn't your choice to leave though. It was Kiopi that pushed us to leave. You didn't leave him. He wanted you to be safe." Ajax says, patting my head. I bounce my brows up and down.

"He told me he loved me." I mutter, closing my eyes, letting out a tired sigh. Talani gives a smug grin.

"So Sye has a man?" He asks, then huffs, "That just hurts my feelings."

"Eh?"

"I've been wanting you to be mine but now I know to keep my paws off." Talani explains, putting his palms together on the table. "It'll bother me for a while."

"So you like me?" I ask, baffled.

"Liked, hon, I liked you." Talani corrects me, standing up, retreating. I blink, shaking my head. Throwing my arms up.

"Well where's this portal then?"

"Near the border of here and Enda." Sachi answers me, plopping a map of Wysteria onto the table. Pointing down on a line cutting the map in quarters. "That's Enda. That's the border that we find the portal."

"It'll take a few days?"

"Pfft, no!" Red hisses, clicking his tongue. "I'll shift and give you guys a ride on my back. Just don't fall. Ajax you heard me right?"

"Hmm?" Ajax mutters.

"I was telling the guys not to fall. I'm just hoping that you do." Red snickers. Ajax glares.

"Unacceptable." Ajax mumbles. Red waves his hand around.

"Gosh, no. Not in any fatal way." Red corrects, smirking with a glint in his eye, "Just enough for you to fall in love with me."

"Ah hell yeah! Bring that shit in you smug fab flirt!" Vinmir cheers as he and Red do a quick high-five. Sachi rolls his eyes.

Sorry, for updating new chapters so late. I had a cultural thingy I had to do during the last 2 weeks. And let me tell you, it was weird. But I've learned to appreciate my culture a bit more. So....yup. ^w^
