A YEAR AND A HALF AGO
"I'm heading to bed, Hops," Charlie called to the kitchen as she switched off the TV with the remote, sighing as she got up from the couch. She heard a small grunt from the other room and understood that meant 'goodnight, sweet dreams'.
She closed her bedroom door after brushing her teeth for the night before stepping up to her bedroom mirror hanging over her dresser. She took a wipe from her packaging, cleaning off her make-up, going about her usual routine. She had seen Nancy today, but Nancy hadn't seen her. She didn't think Nancy wanted to see her. It wasn't like Charlie wanted her to see her either, but it would be nice if Nancy could actually own up to her mistakes instead of ignoring them.
She rolled her eyes at her thoughts as she wiped away the eyeliner as carefully as possible, not wanting to get it in her eye. There was no point pondering on the past, she was happy now, happier than she ever thought she could be.
