it was a gloomy night, soft patterns of rain droplets echoed in chan's room.

surprisingly, he wasn't working but staring at the ceiling whilst laying in bed.

he found it hard to sleep, which he didn't think much of because even though he wasn't getting a well deserved sleep, he still felt relaxed.

that was until loud booms of thunder started erupting. the man immediately worrying for hana.

he knew she hated thunder.

past experiences of having to cuddle her or sing lullabies in order for her to sleep flooded his memory.

so, chris knew he would be getting up to go to the girls room but an urgent knock at his door implicated otherwise.

he rushed to the noise, pulling haeun inside. she was teary eyed and made a noise of discomfort when another boom emitted.

they seemed to be getting louder and longer than the ones before.

hana however, tried to stay strong. she admits that she's always been scared of thunder and loud noises.

she knew she was being a crybaby by running to hide from it but she couldn't help it. every time she would hear it her anxiety would skyrocket.

"oh, baby.." the elder cooed, rushing to his bed where haeun had automatically sat at.

chan's voice was soft, comforting.

it made haeun's tears fall; the male pulling her towards his chest.

after awhile of flinching in his arms, she began to sniffle and the thunder had subdued.

as she raised her head, chan could notice a pink hue tinted on her face; even though the room had no immediate light.

the sight alone hurt chan.

it wasn't over anything in particular but the older still felt like he needed to fight mother nature for hurting his girl.

and if he were to be honest, chris didn't know exactly why he cared so much for haeun.

he knew it was some sort of feeling he got when he would see her smile disappear.

like he would do anything to bring that smile back: that it was no ones to take away.

"channie?"

said boy hummed, staring back at her.

"thank you for caring about me," her voice was shaky and christopher was used to this.

he lightly shushed her, " you don't need to thank me." and she replied with "sorry" before hiding in his shirt.

they both knew it was a bad habit to break- her apologizing for every minor inconvenience.

no matter how many times the male told her it was okay to make mistakes; she was still persistent to heavily apologize when unneeded.

the elder figured that would take more time to fix, and doesn't mind reassuring her over and over again.

like he said...

he would do anything to see her smile.

after a while of staying in that position, chan could tell it was getting late.

he stretched over to see his alarm clock with the time 4am illuminated on it. again, he wasn't surprised but concerned for the youngers sleep schedule.

"i need you to lay down for me hun."

although, he was met with a sluggish hum and after checking the youngers face, did he realize she was half asleep.

"its time to sleep," he added, gently moving to lay her on his bed. afterwards, pulling the blanket to tuck her in.

he noticed her stirring back and forth, "would you like me to sing to you?"

she hummed, feeling the bed dip as he joined her underneath the covers.

"come here.." he whispered, allowing the younger to be in his arms and soon his smooth voice flooded her ears.

he brushed through her hair a few times, hearing her soft breathing as she finally fell asleep.

the last thing haeun remembers is the warm feeling around her, as chris gave her a light forehead kiss.
