Heart and Mind
My heart wants to forgive and forget
But my mind warns me about future regret
Conflicting emotions I can't simply ignore
Like a wave crashing upon the rocky shore
I know I have to listen to my mind
And leave my heart's desire behind
For in this battle, the truth must prevail
Leaving the love that's destined to fail
