Rosie's POV

"Baby, are you getting sick?" I gently asked my girlfriend as I set my journal aside, deciding I had written enough for tonight and I wanted to focus on my girlfriend as we wound down our night. Y/n looked over at me and shrugged her shoulders,

"I don't know."

"You're probably getting a sore throat because I've noticed you seem uncomfortable swallowing." I stated as y/n set her glass down and sighed,

"I probably am getting a sore throat. I'll take some cough drops before we go to bed and then I'll see the doctor we have to get a diagnosis." Y/n said as she got up to go to my bag that had various medications in it. I frowned as I looked at my girlfriend, not liking that she was getting sick at all.

"Let's head to bed now so you can get a good amount of rest, darling." I suggested as I wouldn't mind also going to bed now. Y/n took out the bag of cough drops and grabbed two before stuffing it back into my bag. She turned around and nodded her head at me,

"Okay." She simply answered as I took my journal I set aside over to the desk and closed it. I turned off the TV and then sadly looked at my girlfriend sitting in bed with the cough drops in her mouth as she waited for them to slowly dissolve.

Our eyes met and she gave me a small smile, most likely to try and cheer me up. I walked over to her and cupped her cheek, noticing that she felt a little warm as well under my touch. I felt a spark of anxiety shoot through my body as my girlfriend may be becoming more sick than we thought.

"Let me take your temperature, you feel warm," I said as I went into the bathroom to grab the thermometer I had in my toiletry bag. I got it set up and handed it to my girlfriend, "check once the cough drop is all gone."

"Mm." Y/n hummed as she closed her eyes and rested back on the headboard. I nibbled my bottom lip nervously, hoping that whatever she was coming down with was just a common cold.

I mean, it is colder now and we're traveling a lot more frequently, so it would make sense that her immune system can't keep up right now. I take extra precautions when it comes to myself and my health because I'm a touring artist, so my body is used to traveling often.

After a couple of minutes, y/n lifted the thermometer up to her mouth and put it under her tongue, pressing the small button and waiting for it to beep. My eyes nervously watched the numbers flicker on the small digital screen, my heart thumping a bit faster inside my chest. I held my breath when it beeped and y/n took it out of her mouth, looking down at the numbers,

"37.5°C (99.5°F), so I have a slight fever right now," my poor girlfriend announced and my heart sank knowing she was indeed sick, "you should keep your distance a bit, Rosie. I don't want you ending up sick as well."

"I don't want to be far from you. I'll be the big spoon tonight so you're at least facing away from me, how about that?" I asked as she handed me the thermometer so I could go and wash it off. Y/n nodded her head a little,

"Okay, that'll be okay until I go and see what's up with me and what actions need to be done."

I leaned over and placed a small kiss on her forehead and quickly went to wash off the thermometer. I stuffed it back into its box before leaving the bathroom and joining my girlfriend in bed. She turned off the lamp and rolled over on her side so her back faced me. I felt a pang of sadness wash over me, but I scooted behind her and wrapped my arms around her frame nonetheless.

"I love you." I whispered to her in the darkness of our hotel room.

"I love you, too." She replied as I prayed to myself that it wasn't anything serious happening with her health.
