Rosalyn had made progress yesterday with her preparations for the move. It didn't look quite as bad in her apartment as it had the day before. When there was a knock on her apartment door, she was puzzled. Apparently it was becoming a habit that someone kept showing up at her place unannounced. But maybe it was already the neighbor, who had actually announced herself for later, in order to choose something from her kitchen utensils, which she no longer needed. But when she opened the door, none other than Alan's wife stood before her. Shocked, she looked towards her, as she had no idea how she knew where she lived.

"Well, you're surprised to see me standing in front of you, aren't you?" spoke Mary, looking at her husband's assistant with a smug grin. It had been so easy to get into the apartment building. She had simply rung the bell at several nameplates until someone let her in. A flimsy reason had been enough to get her opened. "I know everything! I just came to tell you that I'm going to report you to the agency. Something like you cannot remain employed there. An employee who sleeps with her client! Who knows, I might even go to the press with this story, I would surely get a few pounds for this smear comedy," she now threatened.

Rosalyn was completely overwhelmed right now, if Mary reported this incident to her workplace, she would certainly not get a recommendation for her future job. But more importantly, she didn't go to the newspapers to put Alan in a bad light. He didn't need that at all during the filming of Harry Potter. "You're welcome to call the agency, but please leave your husband out of it and don't go to the press," she asked now, looking nervously at the shorter woman.

"Why should I listen to you? What good would it do me not to?" his wife asked, continuing to scowl at her.

"You would only hurt your husband, it wouldn't do anyone any good, including you," Rosalyn tried to talk Mary into her conscience. Although she knew that in this situation there was no point in trying to talk her out of it, she still wanted to try. "What can I do to prevent your undertaking?"

"What you could do? How about just disappearing? Preferably out of all of our lives. I'm sure Alan will soon tire of you once the allure of the forbidden is gone after his divorce. He'll be bored with such a simple-minded person as you are before long anyway. It takes something more than sex for a longer-term relationship," Mary told her.

Mistress Rickman's words hurt, but were they true? The future alone would show whether she and Alan had a chance as a couple. This woman had no right to make these claims. But she would give in now, because it would be useless to argue with her. She just wanted to prevent the actor from getting into unnecessary trouble that would harm his career. "All right, I understand. I was planning to move away from here anyway, you'll be rid of me soon."

"If that is the case, I will refrain from going to the press. However, if you do not leave, I will change my mind. I will call your place of employment to have you terminated. After all, I don't want you sleeping with another client," Mary said in closing and left.

Rosalyn locked the door, sat down in a chair and began to cry. She couldn't believe what had just happened. The surprise visit had completely thrown her. Tears of despair and hopelessness ran down her cheeks, which she vigorously wiped away. She didn't want to report the incident to Alan or the agency, at least not now. When she had calmed down a bit, she decided to call the housing agency in Andover right away to expedite the process so she could move out of here. She wanted to get out of here as soon as possible, she didn't feel safe here anymore and it was only a matter of time before reporters would take notice of her apartment.

Alan was sitting at his desk, he just had some small things to do today. Some time ago his wife had left the house, possibly meeting her friend again to talk about yesterday's conversation. It didn't suit him at all, because the more people knew about it, the more likely it would be that some of it would get out to the public soon. However, he could not prevent it, he would probably have to accept everything that was yet to come. When his phone rang he was surprised to find his assistant calling. The conversation had not lasted long, it had been clear from her voice that she had been crying. An uneasy feeling spread through his stomach as he thought about the phone call. She had asked him to come today. But not until the darkness would bring him enough protection so he wouldn't be recognized. She wouldn't tell him what it was about. But it was certainly nothing positive that she would discuss with him in the evening. He would have preferred to drop everything and go to her immediately, but she had expressly forbidden him to do so. He wanted to respect her condition.

He could hardly concentrate on his work because he was worried about Rosalyn. Had she already had enough of him or was she already being harassed by photographers? He would have liked to know more, but she would not discuss it on the phone. All his thoughts would be of no use if he didn't finally know what it was all about, he had to be patient. Fortunately, it got dark quickly in winter and he didn't have to wait that long. The conversation with his wife was also pending, but he could also postpone it until tomorrow. He would take care of Rosalyn, she was the most important person in his life who would help him get through what was coming together. He tried with all his might to take care of his last points of the day, so that he would not have to think about it anymore.

The hours until darkness dragged on, his wife was still not back, but he did not care at the moment. He would go to his assistant now, he didn't want to waste another second. Restless, he made his way to her, he fervently hoped that nothing bad had happened.
