[The two of them explored in silence, occasionally trash-talking the mistakes they'd make along the way, but they knew that their goal was to get to the Shoreline.]

"Hey Techno, you know where we're going, right?" "Shoreline." "Yeah, there's a friend of mine, I think you'd like to meet her." "Her? Oooo you got a crush?" "No, asshole, ask your overseer, she calls herself an 'Iterator', or something."

[Ruby's eye widened and explained to Techno what those are]

"...So you mean to tell me, she's a machine?" "Uh... Yeah, but she's friendly, so maybe DON'T kill her?" "Tell her not to be a threat." "Fine, fine."

[The two proceeded to the entrance of the Shaded Citadel, in order to reach the goal. Techno inspected his arm, which displayed the time.]

"Hey Loon, we got a minute thirty until The Rain comes. We gotta find a shelter." "Sounds good to me, grab food you find on the way, I'm full" "Showoff" "I only showoff when I know I'm better" "I hope your shelter fails." "You too bud."

[Loon was the first to find a Shelter and immediately entered it. Techno took longer to find one, but found more food along the way, such as blue fruit, otherwise known as 'Pixold', which he consumed upon entering the shelter, but struggled to sleep. He was too busy thinking about what happened to his tribe. His tribe lived in hiding for a long time, hiding from a machine of unknown making. Eventually, it found them and burned their civilization to the ground. Tech was the only survivor, though he stared down that machine which held him by the throat, and ripped his arm off. Before he left, he saw his own mother being held the same way, but instead of losing an arm... Her neck was snapped. The crack of bones still haunts him, and when the machine was done, it threw her to the side, right in front of Tech. Her lifeless eyes stared at him. He struggled to shake the thoughts, but eventually, exhaustion overwhelms him, and he dozes off.]

[The next day, Ruby woke Techno up again, as he tried to slap her as if she was his old alarm until the ghost-like being screamed louder at him.]

"Oh. Thanks, Ruby. Uhhh sorry for trying to and almost killing you."

[The Red thing somehow huffed and turned away]

"Don't be like that, you know how much I hate that alarm sound."

[The creature, who lacked arms somehow shrugged and moved on. Tech stretched, grabbed his spear, and left to rendezvous with Loon. Eventually, they met once more and continued onto their path. They climbed poles, shifted through pipes, almost killed each other twice, stole some food, stole some flesh that they used as food, and eventually made it to Shoreline.]

"We made it, but there's still a ways to go." "Yup.. time to get them steps in."

[The two traveled onward, eventually reaching a pipe that served as a shortcut to the machine they intended to meet. The unstable islands of foreign origin served as ways to avoid the water, where horrors might lurk.]

"This is the worst part. Do not fall in, people say that there are some terrible things round here" "And how is that scarier than anything else we've seen?" "It's BIG." "Cool."

[The islands grew increasingly unstable the further they went, one almost collapsing underneath Loon's foot.]

"Careful, that one almost broke."

[Tech, being oblivious to the warning wasn't careful when he stepped, and when he did, the ground collapsed, and Techno sunk into the depths of the unknown.]

"Tech, you there?"

[He turned around to water splash where Tech fell]

"TECH!"
