Finally, the rain had stopped.

The Pevensies were sat outside in the golden sun which allowed them to explore a variety of new games. The one chosen was cricket using an old wooden set found in one of the cupboards.

"Peter winds up, poised to take yet another wicket!" Peter shouted as he bowled to Edmund who was holding the bat, totally zoned out as he stared back at the mansion.

The ball hurled towards the younger brother, hitting him on the side.

"Ow!" Edmund called out, shifting his focus away from the house.

"Whoops!" Peter said sarcastically.

"Wake up, Dolly Daydream", the oldest brother added as Susan picked up the ball, throwing it back to him.

"Why can't we play hide and seek again?" Edmund asked.

His question caught the ear of Lucy who was sat a few paces away at the bottom of a tree reading a book.

"I thought you said it was a kid's game", Peter pointed out as he tossed the ball between his hands.

"Besides, we could all use the fresh air", Susan added.

"It's not like there isn't air inside", Edmund snapped back sharply.

"Are you ready?" Peter asked as he took his position across from Edmund, ready to bowl once more.

"Are you?" Edmund retorted, banging the bat down on the ground, preparing to hit the ball.

Peter shook his head, ran up, bowled the ball and Edmund hit it high into the air ... straight into one of the mansion windows, smashing a hole right through it.

Each of the siblings stared up at the broken window.

After a few seconds, Peter ran towards the mansion to assess the damage inside, his three siblings following after him.

It was far worse than just a smashed window.

The ball had collided into one of the full sets of armour, bringing it down onto the floor along with the pieces of glass from the window.

"Well done, Ed", Peter scolded.

"You bowled it!" Edmund argued back.

"What on earth is going on?"

The stern voice of Mrs Macready called out, immediately alarming the four children.

"The Macready!" Susan said in a panic.

"Come on!" Peter yelled, running as fast as he could out of the room.

Peter knew they couldn't be caught. That's all that was going through his head as he led his siblings through the hallways.

He didn't know where they were going. He also knew that once rationality set in, there was no getting out of it.

Mrs Macready would obviously know it was the four of them who broke the window and smashed up the armour.

They had barely gotten away last night when Lucy disturbed the professor. And Peter doubted the old man would be on their side knowing they had destroyed part of his house.

But rationality hadn't yet kicked in.

"No, no, back, back, back!" Edmund said quickly as the four ran through a door, hearing the footsteps of the strict woman approaching.

The order had shifted, Susan was leading, and she tried to open a bunch of doors at the top of one of the staircases, each of them locked.

Peter caught a glimpse of the portrait of the four girls as he ran to catch up to her.
