Y/N's POV:

After settling my mother comfortably in bed, I made sure she had everything she needed before she got some rest. "Remember, Mom, if you need anything, don't hesitate to call me. I'll be right here for you," I said, my voice filled with concern.

Her warm smile and loving gaze made my heart swell with gratitude. "I know, my dear. You've always been my rock, and I couldn't be prouder of the responsible and caring man you've become."

Blushing slightly, I replied, "Thanks, Mom. You mean the world to me, and I'll always be here for you."

We settled into a heartfelt conversation, and she asked about my photography job from the previous day. I hesitated, not wanting to worry her, but honesty prevailed. "Well, Mom, the job was a bit challenging. I had a photoshoot with a famous actress named Hailee Steinfeld."

Her eyes sparkled with interest. "Oh, Hailee Steinfeld! I've seen her in movies. How was it working with her?"

I tried to downplay the difficulties and avoid mentioning Hailee's scolding. "It was interesting, Mom. She's talented, but you know how celebrities can be demanding sometimes."

Chuckling, she said, "Oh, I can imagine. But it must have been an exciting experience for you, nonetheless."

Wanting to shift the conversation, I brought up a topic close to my heart. "Speaking of exciting news, Mom, remember the renovation we did on the first floor of the house?"

Her face lit up as she recalled the project. "Of course! It turned out beautifully. I was thinking, maybe we should consider renting it out."

I hesitated, feeling protective of our home. "Rent it out? But, Mom, that's our home. I don't want strangers living there."

She placed her hand on mine, understanding my concerns. "I know it's our home, dear, but think about it practically. We could use the extra income, especially with the medical expenses lately. Besides, it's just temporary until things get better."

Sighing, torn between emotions and practicality, I admitted, "I know, Mom, but I don't want you to feel like a burden to me."

Her eyes softened with love. "You've never made me feel like a burden, Y/N. You're my son, and I love you more than anything. It's only natural for a mother to worry about her child's future. Plus, having someone else in the house might keep me company when you're at work."

Her selflessness and understanding touched my heart deeply. "Okay, Mom, I'll do it. We'll rent it out. But we have to find someone we trust."

Her face lit up with happiness, and she pulled me into a loving embrace. "Thank you, my dear. You won't regret it. Now, get some rest yourself. You've had a long day."

As I bid my mother goodnight, I felt a mix of emotions. Despite the challenges, I knew I was blessed to have a mother who cared so much for me. And as I lay in bed that night, I felt hopeful for the future, knowing that together, we would face whatever life had in store, one step at a time.

Hailee's POV:

As I completed my last reps in the home gym, I felt a surge of satisfaction and pride wash over me. Beads of sweat glistened on my forehead, and I let out a relieved sigh. I turned to face the gym mirror, taking in my figure with a sense of accomplishment. "Looking good, Hailee," I complimented myself, feeling a moment of self-assurance.

Settling down to catch my breath, I took a long sip of water from my sipper. The music in my headphones surged, drowning out the world around me. The beats filled my ears, and I moved my head in sync with the rhythm. It was an escape, a moment of relief I hadn't felt in a long time.
