When is this joke of a wedding going to get over?

I've already cancelled 2 of my important meetings and postponed 5 other

It's taking a toll on my work

And I hate it

I hate everything about this wedding, the decorations, the fake happiness on people's face, the functions, the costumes and most importantly

The bride

How foolish of her to think that I
would care of she likes anyone

As if

Then why was I angry when Mrs. Dixit talked about setting up her marriage with her son

Shut up Rudraksh, just get done with this thing and focus back on your work

I looked through my window and saw preparation going on for her mehndi in the front lawn

God I hate the smell of that

I'm not going anywhere near it today!

My eyes wandered around the lawn and stopped at him

What is he doing here?

I noticed he looked a little lost but soon relaxed when he saw a figure appearing from the door

I followed his gaze

I gasped
.
.
.

My to be wife

I hate green colour. But look at me now, adorned in green colour lehenga choli, getting my mehendi done

"Rajkumari" I turned my head at this voice

"Yug sir, aap yaha, aur please aap mujhe Rajkumari naa bolaiye"

"Why? Also if I don't call you that, those people will have my head"

He pointed out towards the tight security that was hired for this wedding

I laughed when I realised he was joking and joined me too

Maybe, I was wrong about him acting strange. It might be because I've never seen him outside his professor behaviour. Maybe he is like this in everyday life.

"You're looking beautiful" he said truthfully while handling me a pretty flower banquet but as my hands were busy with the mendi going on I signalled him to keep in on the near table

"Thankyou so much sir, those are lovely"

"Rajkumari, mehndi mai kiska naam likhwana hai?" The artist asked me

Ek naam hai jo bataye!

Battameez, Gora Chichhora, Akdu, Sadiyal, kitne saare hai!

"RUDRAKSH"

Dekho! Naam liya aur shaitaan haazir!

"Morning Mr. Rathi, didn't knew you were so foul that you would attend my wife's mehendi ceremony" his bitter words were sugar coated but were so oblivious

My wife's?!!!!

Mr Rathi just smile and replied
"Morning to you too Mr. Arora also she's not your wife yet"

Both of them were glaring at each other so hard jaise koi puraane dushman ho..

"Are you deaf???? Put MY name on her mehndi" Rudraksh shouted at the poor girl who seemed baffled by the sudden outburst

"Bilkul nahi" this was me.

Because these two man standing in front of me, talking about ME, as if I was not present there

He turned his gaze from Yug sir to me

"Naam likho"

"Hargaiz nahi"

"Fine"

Huh!! Humse koi nahi jeet sakta

My happiness was short-lived when I felt his hand pull mine and he held it cautiously to avoid spoiling the beautiful design.

He sat down on my level and grabbed on the mehndi come from the tray

Yeh kya kar rahe hai??!!!!

Sabke saamne?? Dimag toh kharab nahi hua inka??

I pulled my hand out of his hold but he held again

"Shhh!! Kharab ho jaaegi" I stilled at his voice.

Abhi itne gusse mai the aur ab itne pyaar se...

I didn't move a muscle as he continued to write his name on my mehndi ..

Why was I smiling?

I should be angry, right?

My gaze fell on kaira who was looking at Rudraksh with hurt

I took a moment to look at her. She's beautiful.

It's difficult not to like her

Suddenly I started feeling insecure about myself. I can never carry the attitude she has and this marriage?? This will never work!

Don't get me wrong, I know this is all happening to bring back the families reputation.

But it's all real.

I'm getting married to this man forreal.

Ofcourse there's a part of me that wants this to work!

"Done" he said feeling proud of his art

I didn't let him get up, I held his hand

"Sirf hum kyu apne haatho mai aapka naam likhe?"

I took his big hand in my small ones and took the henna cone from him

He didn't said a word nor did stop me

I watched my work, feeling satisfied with it..

"Ab done" I looked at him and his eyes watched the name on his palms.
