Chapter 12: Sesshomaru's Secret Feelings

"Welcome back, Kagome. Are you here for another rematch?" Drago asked with a smirk as he watched Kagome approaching him. Kagome had returned to the training grounds and was ready to continue her swordsmanship. He guessed this will be fun between a demon and a human.

"Sure, Drago. I would love another rematch." Kagome smirked back.

"You need a new sword? I'll give you a new sword, so you won't keep burrowing it." Drago asked.

She smiled lightly. "Yeah. I would love that." Kagome replied, "You don't mind giving me a new sword?"

"I don't mind at all. Trust me, there are plenty of swords, so you can have one." Drago said, showing her the sheath swords around the area of the corner room, "You can pick whatever you want."

"Okay." Kagome glanced over the swords. It will take a minute to choose the brand-new sword until she spotted the sheathed katana. She had never seen it before. The katana has a dark gray blade and a black handle for those who carry around it with a hand. Kagome couldn't help but stare at it.

Drago noticed it. "That is the Dragonbane sword."

"Dragonbane sword?"

"The sword is leveled, and the magnitude of the enchantments, base strength, and value are based upon demons and humans," Drago explained to Kagome, sheathing the sword slowly and showing it to her.

Kagome stared at it. "I see." She murmured, "This sword looks interesting. I would say I'll keep it."

He smirked. "That's what I want to hear." He said, passing the Dragonbane sword to Kagome, "It's all yours now. I insist you take care of the sword."

She smiled at him. "Thank you, Drago, for the Dragonbane sword."

"It would be an honor. Let's continue our training, Lady Kagome." Drago suggested.

She nodded in response. Then the two headed back to the training grounds and ready for another rematch for Drago.

What the two didn't know was that Sesshomaru watched them walk down the training grounds and ready to have another sword fight. He frowned while watching over them. He kept staring at the young girl who looked thrilled and beam. He never knew why Kagome was too kind to them. To his point of view; this girl was strange and weird. He insisted on giving himself a second chance. But he didn't want to follow his father's path, which means he'll never feel for a human girl like her. He couldn't help but remember the time he first saw Kagome on the training grounds.

Flashback

"Sesshomaru, darling! I couldn't wait for becoming your mate! I'll be the best mate ever!" Yumi exclaimed excitedly, leaping towards him and leaning the side of her head on Sesshomaru's left shoulder.

He sighed in annoyance as he glanced over and saw the same girl from before going to the training grounds with Drago who instantly challenged her for a fight. He frowned. He couldn't understand why the demons accepted her when there wasn't a problem with having a human around in the palace. He was feeling under.

Sesshomaru spun his head and faced her, "Yumi, you know we're not mates yet." He said, "And you know I'm not ready for our relationship."

Yumi blinked. "You're saying you're not ready to become my mate?" She asked, shockingly, "Do you not accept me, Sesshomaru?"

He sighed. "Not yet. But what will Father think?"

She chucked, wrapping her arms around his neck and smirking, "Don't worry, Sessy." She said, "Taisho will soon find out about us, so he will accept me to be part of your family. It would be wonderful if I could be your true mate."

He sighed again, giving in. He leaned in and pressed his lips against hers. Within a minute, he let go of her lips and gazed into her eyes, "Alright, Yumi. If this is what you want," he said, "I promise I will marry you, Yumi."

Yumi was shocked. "You will?"

"Just give me some time, so I could make my own decisions like you wanted," Sesshomaru said.

Yumi placed her hand on his left cheek. "Alright, my love." She said, smiling lovingly, "Whatever you're ready, let me know."

"Hn," Sesshomaru responded, frowning.

Flashback Ends

Should I be ready to be Yumi's mate? Sesshomaru thought, closing his eyes slowly and having his deep thought. He was thinking of Kagome instead of Yumi. Was this some kind of love triangle? Does he have a problem with that? What was wrong with him? Suddenly, he heard footsteps coming towards him when he spun around and saw his father was coming his way.

"Sesshomaru?" Taisho said.

"Father," Sesshomaru responded to him.

"Is something wrong, my son?" He asked.

He shook his head. "No..."

Then he noticed Sesshomaru has secret thoughts about Kagome when a smirk appeared on his lips. He crossed his arms across his chest, "Sesshomaru, you're not thinking of Kagome, right?"

He glared instantly. He almost flutter when he tried to hide his expression from him. "N-no..."

"Well, is there something else you want to tell me, Sesshomaru?" Taisho questioned him.

"I said no, Father!" Sesshomaru snapped.

"Son, I know you're hiding from me. I need you to tell me the truth." Taisho snapped back.

He sighed in defeat. Sesshomaru knew his father wasn't going to give up when he wanted to hear from him. "Alright... Father, I think I'm confused..."

"Confused? Why are you confused?" He asked.

"It's because of a human." Sesshomaru pointed at Kagome who fought with Drago in the training grounds.

"Who? Kagome? Why do you think it's Kagome? Did you harm her?"

He shook his head. "No... I think I started to like her as much as I like Yumi..."

Taisho was shocked. "Oh, really? So you liked Kagome, huh?" He chuckled with a smile, "Well, son, that looks like you have a secret crush on her, right?"

"F-father, stop it!" Sesshomaru stuttered in embarrassment, blushing heavily. "I don't like her!"

"Oh, come on, Sessy. Get used to it! I'm just happy that you wanted to get along with Kagome, that doesn't mean I forced you to get along with humans. I only want for you to be happy with Kagome."

"But, Father, there is a problem..." Sesshomaru muttered.

"And what problem do you have?" Taisho asked.

"I only liked Yumi and the girl, but the problem is... I don't know what I decide to be with, but I'm not ready for becoming Yumi's mate..."

"Oh, Sesshomaru. Is that why you liked both of them, Yumi and Kagome?"

"Indeed, Father." He replied.

"Poor, Sessy. Listen well, my son, I wanted you to follow your heart and decide who you want to be with. Take your time when you're ready. It's up to you." Taisho said, smiling at him.

Sesshomaru frowned. "Is this some kind of joke, Father?"

"Of course not, Sesshomaru. I am telling you the truth. If you have some problems with wanting to be with women, you have to take your time and make yourself a decision."

He sighed, still frowning. "Whatever you say so, Father."
