ANGST??

Y/n often found themselves surrounded by laughter and friends. Be it their neighbors or alternate versions of them.

However, amidst the lively chatter, there was one inhabitant who remained elusive.

Opposite.

He was well known for his scowls and quick temper,  steering clear any joyous gatherings.

It seemed he was especially agitated whenever any other versions of him lingered around. Some had the tendency to roam around the multiverse, even here.

Approaching Opposite's usual brooding spot, Y/n extended an invitation for a picknick with the AU Wally's with a hopeful smile, "Hey, Opp will you join us? It'll be fun."

He scowled, his usual response. "Not interested. I'd rather not waste my time."

Undeterred they persisted. "Come on, it's just a friendly hangout. You might enjoy it."

...

Clearly he wasn't in the mood-

Opposite's irritation flared. "I said no! Why don't you mind your own business?"

He walked away in a angry stride, heading for HOME and slamming the door shut behind him with a loud *slam*.

Days where going by and the concern was growing as  the local hothead was less and less present.

Y/n knocked into the door of HOME ignoring the messily scribbled note that said 'do not disturb or trespass' clearly written by the homeowner.

They knocked a few times, but there was no response.

"Come on. It's me, your neighbor. Won't you let me in?"

There where some shuffling noises coming from inside but no one that opened the door. So that meant another tactic was needed.

"Home, would you be as kind to permit me entry? I'm here to check up on him, I really appreciate it if you-"

Y/n was trying to convince Home, thankfully it seemed happy to have them checking up on Opposite. They wheren't even finished talking and the door swung open.

"Why thank you."

Opposite growled in annoyance as he heard footsteps come closer. He had no doubt about who it was, aside from Frank no one would even bother to stop by.

He was in his painting room.

Normaly it was decently organized but now it was a mess. The empty canvases he normally adorned with his art now stayed empty.

He hadn't had any inspiration for days... for weeks.

He had truly tried drawing and painting but everything turned out a mistake and eventually he couldn't bring himself to try anymore.

The puppet felt frustration and shame as the human entered his domain, seeing the state it was in, the state he was in. The imperfect image he tried to hide from the others

Y/n frowned sadly. "... is this where you've been spending most your time? Is everything okay?"

Opposite scoffed in return. "Mind your own problems. I don't need your sympathy."

A part of him knew he must look pathetic, he knew he had anger issues and it was something that often got brought up or showed. But what others could never take away where his artistic skills, something he valued a LOT. He bragged bout it often.

Now he had nothing to show, too show off, to be proud off.

It was a bunch of nothingness and blandness.

It may be something minor to others but to him it was the worst. The absolute worst! He couldn't stand it.

So he did what he knew best, getting angry, lashing out at others but it never helped and if only added more pain, shame and guilt.

Y/n responded softly. "You are clearly struggling, let me be there for you. You don't have to face everything alone."

Opposite's facade cracked momentarily, a flicker of vulnerability in his eyes. "Why do you even care?"

He liked his neighbor, even if he ratger shallowed glass than admitting that out loud. But seeing them with other, especially his other versions often made his jealousy flare up.

Which resulted in him bickering and/or arguing with them. At this point he figured they must be sick and tired of him. So why bother trying to hang out... why bother to care.

Did they truly care or would they forget about him again the moment another better, more artistic, more perfect version of him was dropping by.

Stupid multiverse! Why couldn't he just be the only one.

But their words snapped him back into reality.

"Because you're my neighbor and friend. I care about you. It's okay not to be okay."

They spoke to him with sincerity, now holding his hand giving it a soft squeeze. He hated how he just wanted to melt from their touch.

A heavy silence enveloped them, broken by the puppets reluctant admission. The human gave him a encouraging smile to continue talking.

"I... I don't know how to deal with this. My issues. I'm not okay."

Maybe he could finally get some help, some advice, some love to fight against his depression.
