Episode 19 - Sasuke vs Eren (The Snap - Part 1)

For a few seconds, there was just silence. The soft sound of some distant breeze, the slow breathing of both warriors getting ready for the fight of their lives. And then...

'You look tired, Eren Jaeger,' Sasuke said, calm.

Eren nodded. 'It's been a long day.'

'In that case,' Sasuke took a fighting stance. 'Let's end it.'

Both opponents attacked at the same time. With the sound of chirping birds, Sasuke released his Chidori, a torrent of lightning flying straight to his enemy. Eren, on his part, used the Power Stone to throw a beam of pure energy to meet the Chidori. Both attacks collided, unable to advance, with purple and blue sparks all over the place. Sasuke and Eren stood their ground, continuing the flow of power, trying to see who would take the first step back.

The blue and red slots on Eren's Gauntlet shone bright, and Sasuke gasped in surprise as he was suddenly pushed to meet Eren's hand. He grabbed the ninja by the neck, and threw him against the ground, a crater around the fallen Uchiha. Eren tightened his grip.

'Give me the Sharingan,' he growled.

Suddenly, a katana pierced Eren's chest from behind, his eyes grew wide in shock. He coughed, and a splash of blood fell where Sasuke once was a second ago, now vanished.

'For someone who so desperately wants it,' a voice behind Eren said. 'You should at least know the powers of the Sharingan.'

The katana was pulled out of Eren and then he turned, stumbling, to see the real Sasuke staring back at him, his red eye glistening. A genjutsu. Eren fell down to his knee, and Sasuke couldn't help but to smirk. Then—

'And for someone who so desperately wants to kill me,' a voice behind Sasuke emerged. 'You should at least take me seriously.'

The ninja held his breath as the fallen Eren disappeared in red colors, and then turned to see the real one standing as tall as he was, his Reality Stone shining bright on the Gauntlet. Behind him, dozens of giants rocks were floating, ready to strike Sasuke.

'So,' Eren closed his gauntleted hand. 'Shall we?'

Reiner breathed the warm Ba Sing Se air as his Titan started to crumble, covered in a giant cloud of vape. He finally released himself from the chains of flesh that attached him to the Armored Titan and jumped to meet the hard ground with a grunt.

Porco emerged from his own Titan too, a look of confusion and fury on his eyes. 'What are you doing, Reiner? At least stand and fight!'

Reiner couldn't help but to chuckle, a sad smirk on his face. 'The thing is, Porco, that I've been fighting my whole life. And I'm tired.'

'Then I should just eat you and absorb your Titan,' the Marleyan Warrior spat with disgust. 'I should kill you, Reiner.'

Reiner shrugged his shoulders. 'You could do that, yeah.' He raised his gaze to meet Porco's. 'Just like Bertolt and I did in Paradis. Just like the Scouts did with Bertolt. Just like Eren is going to do with the rest of the universe.'

'I see where you're going, Reiner, and—'

'For the first time in my life,' Reiner interrupted him. 'I know what I have to do. I know what to really stand for. This isn't balance, or honor for Marley. This is wrong. And I'd rather die fighting for what I believe than keep feeling like I shouldn't be alive at all.'

Porco stared at him with an indecipherable look in his eyes.

'Then, let me grant you that wish,' said a deep voice next to them. 'I'll kill you for your beliefs, traitor.'
