When Liam heard Harmony's condition for going with him, that Blake would have to tag along just so she could feel safe, he agreed to it.
As he told them both to get in, Blake was first, rushing into the backseat with amazement as she looked around.
To him, Blake was the annoying friend responsible for Harmony getting away from him the first time, but despite how he didn't care for her, her excitement gave him some ideas which would later work to his advantage.
He then looked over at Harmony, who stood still as she pulled on her dress with long strokes.
"I don't plan on holding this door open for the rest of the day." He tapped the door with a poker face.
Harmony pressed her lips together. "I don't know. I just..."
"You already agreed to come with me."
"Harmony! Let's go!" Blake yelled from inside the car.
"Blake needs to rub off some of that enthusiasm on you," he said.
Harmony shook her head. "She's excited because this is supposed to be like the latest model or something."
"It is, but enough about the car. This is about me. Get in." He tapped the door one last time.
When he couldn't wait any longer, he moved away from the door and approached her while keeping his gaze on her feet. He couldn't stop looking at her leather slippers which looked worn out to him.
From the moment he had found her again, he had been analyzing all he could about her. Her beauty was undeniable, but her clothes were anything but appealing.
Even with that, it didn't matter as much as his intention of getting answers from her.
Just when Liam thought he was getting closer, Harmony took a step back and he sighed with frustration.
"Are you coming with me or not?" he asked.
"After you get your answers, you'll leave me alone, right?" she asked.
Before he could respond, he noticed her fiddle with her fingers and her shoulders tensed. He wondered if he made her that uncomfortable. He then remembered how he unintentionally hurt her.
"I'll decide after I get my answers from you," he said.
"I should warn you that there's nothing that concerns-"
"Just get in the car," he cut her off with a blank stare.
As she walked past him, he raised the corner of his lips, treating that moment as progress.
After she got in the backseat and sat close to Blake, he got in the backseat as well and right next to her.
Not once did she look in his direction and despite wanting to look at her face, especially into her big and beautiful eyes, he thought he still had the whole day with her so he decided to wait for the right moment.
He then instructed Larry to drive to his most popular restaurant which was in that same town, then leaned back in his seat to relax.
Since Blake couldn't stop whispering to Harmony, he thought being as still as possible would help in listening, but he was unable to make sense of anything, especially because Harmony, who was much closer to him, had said nothing.
He did however notice how she constantly rubbed the palm of her hand on her dress, then at times, tightly grabbed onto it and just wouldn't relax her fingers.
His eyes then traveled upwards and he observed that she had curved in her shoulder and away from him, as if facing more in Blake's direction.
It was then that he made it his goal to see her relaxed by the end of the day. The last thing he wanted to do was scare away the only person in his memory.
