When she gestured to Dean to let her go, he refused, firmly holding her wrist and signaling her to stay away from Liam just like she had initially decided.
With a sigh of defeat, she continued to listen to Liam from behind the door, placing a hand on her chest.
"I really hate that this happened and I have to go because it changes our plans together," Liam said from behind the door.
Understanding what he meant, her heart broke a little because they had agreed to spend so much time together.
But she soon reminded herself that it didn't matter anymore.
"Call me when you feel like talking to me," he said. "If not, see you in two weeks."
After that, his footsteps retreated and soon, the car drove off.
As soon as they were alone, Dean chuckled with disbelief.
"Really?" he said. "You were going to change your mind just like that and speak to him?"
"I couldn't help it, okay?" she admitted, feeling her heart race.
She slumped back in her seat, crossing her arms with a frown.
When Dean walked to the kitchen, she didn't even pay attention to his movements.
Only a few minutes later, he came back with a glass of water and held the glass in her face.
"Here," he said.
"Thanks but I'm not thirsty anymore," she replied, glancing at it then at the wall.
"How are you not thirsty? That's what you said a few minutes ago," he said, annoyed.
"That was before. Now I'm not thirsty. That's why I didn't go to the kitchen to-"
"Just drink the damn water!" Dean said, his tone harsh as he slammed the glass on the table.
Though she flinched, she scoffed at his attitude.
"What's wrong with you?"
"Nothing," he said, pacing back and forth.
"I hate it when you suddenly get angry."
He scoffed. "I'm not angry. I'm just disappointed. That's all."
"Is this about Liam?"
"What do you think?"
Aware that talking about it further would only result in an argument, she sighed and reached for the glass of water on the table.
After drinking it all, she looked up at him as she raised the glass and thanked him.
Just to ease the tension, she suggested they watch whatever he wanted, and it was only then that he seemed to lighten up.
After he left, she called Blake and told her about what happened.
"You do realize that Dean is jealous because he likes you, right?" Blake said from the other end of the line.
"What?"
"Don't play dumb, unless you're actually so dumb that you've never noticed it."
"Hey!"
"My point is, every time something that has to do with Liam comes up, he acts this way, even when I'm talking to him alone. Do you like Dean?"
"Why would you ask me that when you know the answer?"
"No?"
Harmony scoffed. "You know that I like..." She trailed off.
"Ooh this is interesting!"
