After Last Night

She hesitantly approached the door of the Sinclair Household. After unfortunately, and surprisingly, receiving an invite to the party from her annoying excuse of a best friend, Xavier, who managed to get her an invite.

If he hadn't bothered her for three hours straight about attending this monstrosity, she would have stayed home and tended to her beautiful assortment of weapons she has all over her room. She knocked on the door twice. And it only took a few moments before the door swung open and there stood Ajax, the football team captain, and Enid's boyfriend.

She had never spoken to the girl or her boyfriend, nor did she ever plan to. So she shoved past him, ignoring the "what the hell?!" .

Immediately she felt discomfort in the area that surrounded her. The music was loud, there were flashing lights all over the room, and it reeked of alcohol. Of course this is the kind of party her best friend attends. She sighed and pushed through the crowd of obnoxious teenagers. Feeling more disgusted by the second as she noticed how drunk they were, and all the couples making out.

After pushing past far too many drunk teens, she found the door to the back patio, where there were at least fewer kids out there than inside. And hopefully she'd be able to find Xavier.

She slid the door open and closed it behind her. The kids back here were far more chill. A quarter of them were in the pool swimming, another quarter were just lounging by the bonfire by a tree, the other half were simply just socializing with their peers. She scanned the crowd for at least one familiar face, but not a single one.

She pulled out her phone, seeing that it was the only option she had left. And sent a text to Xavier demanding to know where he is. She shoved it back into her pocket and found an empty tree in the backyard to sit against. She felt glad that she had brought her book with her to this nonsense.

It was peaceful until more and more of the party members started to come outside and the outside turned into what the inside was. So she sighed, put a book mark in the space she left off, and returned into the inside. It was empty. Everyone has gone outside.

Ding!

She read the text. "family emergency, can't go anymore." from Xavier. She scowled.

"As if this night could not possibly get any better." She muttered under her breath to herself.

She decided to go to the fridge. She had begun to grow thirsty. There was nothing but alcohol in the the fridge. Another heavy sigh. Reaching for her pocket, she pulled out her car keys in preparation to leave. When she turned around, she was shocked to see the host of the party standing in front of her.

Enid Sinclair. The head cheerleader. Not your stereotypical one that you would find in books and shows, she was rather more tolerable than the ones in books and shows. And, Wednesday will never admit to anybody, she was just a little bit attracted to the cheerleader.

"Not a fan of alcohol?" She asked, Wednesday felt uncomfortable. And chose to stay silent rather than reply.

"I'll take that as a yes. If you want some orange juice or water I have a mini fridge up in my room?"

Water did sound good.

Hesitantly, Wednesday nodded and followed the girl up the staircase and into the room.

It was horrifyingly bright with colors. Far too many for Wednesday to handle all at once. But she tried to keep her composure, to not come off as rude to the girl offering her a normal drink. Enid had walked over to her desk where the mini fridge was right under it and grabbed Wednesday a water and orange juice.
