"Hashima Island? You mean the island that is on the coast of Nagasaki?"

"Yep~"

Sora said with a playful smile on his face as he and Mamoru sat on the sofa in the main lobby, while the other members started grabbing a shovel and clearing out the outside deck from the snow that piled up on top of it. Making Robin, who was the one who asked that question, nods her head in understanding. Remembering her time when she visited Hashima Island as a tourist.

"To be honest... right now, the safest place that we could escape from the zombie hoard on the mainland is an island. That has the least number of people living within it"

"But isn't Hashima an abandoned island? I can understand your logic about finding an island to use as a survival camp, but... we have to consider many different factors as well like for example, its climate and whether or not it has the resources it needs to sustain life"

"Hashima sits between the tropical and temperate climate so we have no problem in terms of climate. That island isn't too hot or too cold, and didn't people live there before?"

"Can someone explain to us first what you guys are talking about?"

Nami said, causing Takagi to fix her glasses before she started giving them an overview of what happened on the island and why it was abandoned.

"Hashima island, it's an abandoned island that once had a thriving economy... it was abandoned because the company who owned the island, which was previously used as a coal mining facility, closed the mine and moved its workers to work in other subsidiaries. In the 1960s, coal was replaced by oil since they argued that coal is an ecologically damaging fuel so the government started shutting down coal mines around the country back then, and Hashima was no exception. And because the economy of Hashima Island is mainly based on coal, having people keep on using it is extremely costly. They have to repair the walls around the island to protect them from waves during typhoons, so it was better to completely abandon it rather than continue to maintain it"

"It's a coal mining facility?"

"Yep. Hashima Island is just a large rocky island in the middle of the sea. It couldn't sustain life because it had no soil to grow any plants and had no shelter for any kind of animal to live in there... It was completely transformed into a residential island due to its large deposits of coal, but since the people there couldn't grow any plants or crops, they had to heavily rely on imports for food and supplies"

"Doesn't that mean it's completely unhabitable?"

"Not really, it is possible to raise plants on that island now since in 1963, as part of a campaign started by the company and its residents, they brought large amounts of fertile soil to the island. Because of this, the residents can raise plants and gardens on the island, and even now, there are still traces of plants growing within the island because of this fertile soil"

Robin answered with a smile on her face, supporting Sora's idea since it was worth the risk, and if they judged that it was practically impossible for them to live on that island in the long term, then they'd just have to find another one. That island had very few people within it, most of it were staff and tourists who came to visit the island. It also had no animals that could destroy crops or kinds of pests that they had to worry about.

"Even though the conditions of that island aren't that suitable for sustainability right now, because of the state of buildings and facilities within it. Don't we have Mamoru's ability now? What if... just what if he can take control of the entire island and repair it using his ability? He can make items indestructible, so doesn't that mean that there is a possibility that he can make the walls surrounding it and the buildings indestructible too?"
