Chapter 50: Cooking

"Kitagawa?"

Mamoru asked with a surprised look on his face as he stepped into the kitchen of the restaurant. Seeing Kitagawa alone reading a cookbook on the counter while wearing an apron. Making Kitagawa look back at him in response before smiling brightly in his direction.

"Good afternoon, Mamoru~"

"... what are you doing here?"

He asked as he walked toward her. Looking at the large number of ingredients on the kitchen counter. Making Kitagawa show a proud smile on her face in response.

"Of course, I'm going to cook lunch! Erina-san and the others are still asleep, and Tsugumi-san is building something with Paula-san. That's why I'm the only one left to cook lunch for all of us!"

"... Do you even know how to cook?"

"How rude! Of course, I know, it's super simple Isn't it? I just need to follow the recipe after all"

She said with a confident smile on her face, causing Mamoru to let out a sigh in response. He didn't want to kill her enthusiasm and energy so he decided to stop himself from saying anything more. Mamoru hummed before he walked towards the fridge. Looking for a bag of dried seaweed and ham. He then grabs a bottle of Worcestershire sauce and oyster sauce, as well as a bag of breadcrumbs and all-purpose flour from the drawer. Making Kitagawa curiously watch him in response.

"What are we making?"

"Since we have a lot of tenderloins, I thought we could make tonkatsu. As for the eggs... let's just make omurice for everyone and fry the 10 cans of spam. I think we might have miso paste, dried kelp, dried bonito flakes, and silken tofu in the fridge. So, let's prepare miso soup"

He said as he placed a large pot on the stove. Pouring large amounts of vegetable oil inside and turning up the heat. He let it heat up for a while before he grabbed a bowl and placed it on the counter. Making Kitagawa peak at him in response. Wondering what she should do to help out.

"... Help me dice the vegetables for the fried rice. We have no leftover rice, so we'll have to make do with packaged rice"

"Roger that~"

She answered before she grabbed a sharp knife hung in front of them. She then grabbed the onions and carrots at the side. Making Mamoru let out a smile before he started cracking the eggs on the flat surface of the table and pouring their contents into the bowl. Cracking a total of 3 eggs before he prepared 2 flat trays on the counter.

"... Let's just keep it simple"

He said to himself as he started to pour flour on one of the trays, while the other was filled with breadcrumbs. Mamoru then began to spray a bit of water on the breadcrumbs to give it some moisture. He then took out a tenderloins and a sharp knife in front of him.
