Chapter 28

Y/N's POV:

I took a deep breath closing my eyes crossing my arms. As I tried to understand what was happening.

"No no no, you did not?!" I said covering my face and shaking my head not believing this was happening

"Yes yes yes, I did" she said shutting the door behind her to come up to me

"Camila no you did not need to-"

"I wanted to" she said cutting me off

I had such a mix of emotions. A part of me couldn't believe she went through all of this trouble to do this just for me. It was a giant gesture of care.

But a part of me was also furious. How could she do something so big, so rash and without my consent or giving me a say in this?! This was a very big deal.

I sighed and threw my head back and she came up to me wrapping her arms around my waist

"You don't like it?" She asked "do you want a bigger one?"

My eyes popped out of my eyes. She can't be for real!!

"No, no it's not that, it's incredible-" i mumbled

"Then why do you look so upset?" She asked

"Camila this is a big thing" I sighed out trying to step away from her but she held me tight not letting me go

"This is a massive thing. One doesn't just buy an apartment for someone like nothing" I said

"Y/n you know this isn't a big deal for me" she said giving me a look like she was working with chump change here

"No it is. At least in my book as a normal citizen. This isn't even a place in my price range it's way above it" I said freaking out a little

I was looking at areas that were safe and somewhat nice but if you walked too far and turned a wrong corner you'd get somewhere you shouldn't. It wasn't because I wanted to but because it was all I could get.

And the pride in me wasn't about to settle for the gentrified ran up areas.

"Y/n it's fine I paid it off for a year so you don't even have to worry about monthly rent-" she said

"I can't believe this" I whispered to myself running my hands through my hair again

"Y/n please. I really wanted to help. I thought you would be excited" she mumbled a little disappointed

"Camila" I said grabbing her hand making her look up at me

"I'm so sorry if I came off as ungrateful because far from it. I truly do appreciate this. It's a grand gesture" I said making sure she knew I was being sincere

"But it's still a big commitment I would've appreciated some communication-" I said

"You would've said no" she replied

"You're damn right" I said and she just pouted

"Look, I don't ever want you to think that you need to spend money on me or anything. I don't want any of that from you whatsoever-"

"Y/n please I know you're not like that. I know you don't care for that part of my life" she said

"but you didn't have to spend so much on me-"

"Y/n I wanted to" she said looking into my eyes grabbing my head

I sighed out again closing my eyes defeated because I knew I wasn't going to win this battle. I just hated feeling like a freeloader

"by the way I already picked out some furniture and necessities it should all arrive tomorrow-"

"Cam-" I closed my eyes resting it on her forehead
