The Potter Manor was decorated with many spooky stuff despite Harry's wailing. Ruby held the boy in her arms and cradled him softly to stop his crying.

"Give him to me, Ruba. He'll stop once he's with his godfather, " Sirius said smugly as Ruby rolled her eyes and handed Harry to Sirius. To her surprise, Harry stopped crying, which made Ruby scoff in disbelief.

"You little -"

"No cursing, love," Sirius said as he winked and pecked Harry's cheek, looking at Ruby. She looked down and smiled before maintaining a poker face.

"Bastard," she muttered as she entered the kitchen to help Lily. Sirius made Harry stand on the ground as the little boy tried to wink at him. Sirius chuckled as he ruffled Harry's hair.

"Watch what your dad's doing." Harry nodded his head as Sirius headed to the kitchen to see Lily and Ruby arranging the dishes.

"Lily, James asked for you," Sirius lied as Lily raised an eyebrow.

"Is it so?" Sirius nodded his head as Lily removed the apron and eyed Sirius suspiciously before walking out of the kitchen. Ruby just ignored him and did her chores. She flinched slightly when she felt his strong grip on her waist from behind. Sirius kept his chin on her shoulder.

"Sirius, stop," she muttered as Sirius playfully rubbed his nose on her bare neck, which made her shudder.

"Si--Sirius, stop it, you dimwit!" Ruby exclaimed as she turned around to see him. Using this as an opportunity, Sirius caged her between his arms as Ruby faked a glare.

"Come on, Sirius." He shook his head with a wide grin as Ruby raised her hand to beat him, which made Sirius close his eyes immediately. Ruby smiled playfully as she placed her lips on his cheeks instead of her palm. Sirius's eyes relaxed as he saw his wife looking at him with a beautiful smile.

Sirius smiled softly as he placed his at the either side of her cheek and leaned in for a kiss. Ruby closed her eyes momentarily as she felt their noses brushing against each other.

Sirius was about to kiss her but suddenly his thoughts were filled with his friend Peter who never showed up for Marlene, Thomas and Eleanor's funeral, who never showed up to console his friends, who never showed up for Harry and Willow's first birthday party, who always gives the same excuse My mom's not feeling good.

He wanted to believe it, but deep inside his heart, he felt something odd. He wanted to push those thoughts and kiss Ruby, but something stopped him from doing that. Ruby frowned as she opened her eyes to see Sirius deep in thoughts.

"Sirius?" Ruby slightly shook his shoulder as Sirius snapped out of his thoughts.

"Ruba, I'll be back within an hour," Ruby frowned. " I'm going to see wormtail... something's bothering me... let me clear my thoughts and come back to you guys, " Sirius said as he took a step back, which made Ruby take a step forward.

"I'll also come with you," Ruby insisted.

"Don't, stay with them and don't be alone...." Sirius said as he pecked her lips and pulled back before she could reciprocate. "Wait for me." With that said, Sirius walked out of the kitchen, and the Manor was in search of Peter.

"Happy Halloween! " Lily exclaimed as they started to have the feast.

It has been an hour since Sirius left, and Ruby started to get worried. Many thoughts and negative thoughts started to run in her mind.

"He's going to be fine, Ruby." She looked up to see James with an assuring smile. Ruby nodded her head vaguely as she took a bite of the meat and savored the food.
