Sebastian’s POV

Aurora was panicking.

Her breathing became erratic. She started shaking. Quiet, broken sobs kept escaping her lips.

My heart was completely shattered. I didn’t even know what I was feeling. I didn’t even care really. All I cared about was her.

“It’s okay, Rory,” I said as I pulled her to my chest. “It will be okay.”

I was going to kill that fucker. I was going to rip him apart limb by limb.

“Did he...” Rory cried out, her voice breaking.

“We don’t know, princess,” Rhys said as he sat next to her. “We need to take you to the hospital.”

Rory sobbed and gripped my arm tighter.

“I didn’t want you to wake up in a hospital so I brought you here,” I said as I caressed her cheek. “I know how much you hate them.”

She gulped and studied my face for a moment.

“But we need to go now, okay?” I continued. “We need them to examine you. We need evidence against that fucker.”

“We will be right there with you, princess,” Rhys said as he leaned in and kissed her cheek. “We won’t leave you alone for one second, okay?”

Rory kept her eyes on me. I could tell that she was confused. I could tell that she was scared. My heart hurt and I really wanted to explain everything to her, but taking her to the hospital was much more important now.

I pulled her into a hug and kissed the top of her head.

“Come on,” I mumbled. “We need to go.”

I sat up and pulled her with me. She tensed up immediately.

“Who changed me?” she asked quietly, her voice trembling.

“I did,” I said.

She nodded and I reluctantly let her go.

“Come on,” Rhys said softly as he took her hand in his and helped her stand up.

He hugged her immediately.

“I am sorry, princess,” he said quietly. “I am so sorry.”

“It’s my fault,” she said. “I shouldn’t have gone there. You told me to stay home. I should have stayed home.”

I flinched. Her fault? It wasn’t her fault!

“No, Aurora,” Rhys said sternly as he cupped her cheeks. “It wasn’t your fault. It was his and only his. Do you understand me?”

Rory furrowed her eyebrows a little.

“Do you understand me, Aurora?” Rhys repeated his question after she didn’t answer.

She gave him a small nod.

“Okay,” Rhys said as he let her go and took her hand in his. “We have to go.”

I walked to her closet and grabbed a pair of her sneakers.

“Put them on,” I said as I approached her.

“Thank you,” she said quietly as she took the sneakers from me and sat on the bed to put them on.

I took a deep breath and looked at Rhys. He had a mixture of anger and pain written all over his face. I ran my hand through Rory’s hair, making her glance up at me.

I could tell that she was unsure if she should trust me or not and I didn’t like it. I understood it, but I didn’t like it.

She stood back up and grabbed Rhys’ hand. He pulled her to him immediately. I tightened my jaw. I hated that she trusted him more.
