Aurora’s POV

“What the hell are you doing?” Sebastian asked as he walked into my room.

I glanced up at him and continued packing my backpack.

“You are not going to school, Aurora,” Sebastian said sternly.

I sighed and looked at him.

“Yes, I am,” I said calmly. “I can’t stay home. It will drive me insane.”

I spent the entire Sunday discussing the charges with my parents. I wanted to drop them and my dad almost lost it. He said that he would kill Bruno if he walked away from this as a free man. I believed him after a while. He was really angry.

“We will go somewhere then,” Sebastian said. “But you are not going to school.”

I raised my eyebrows at him.

“Go where?” I asked, making him furrow his eyebrows.

He bit the inside of his cheek and I could tell that he was thinking hard. He always did that when he couldn’t come up with an answer.

“I’m going to school, Sebastian,” I said after a few moments of silence. “You can come or you can stay here.”

I wanted to walk past him, but he grabbed my arm and stopped me.

“Fuck, no,” he said, shaking his head at me. “You are not going, Aurora.”

I wanted to argue, but he interrupted me.

“We can go see a movie if you don’t want to stay home, but you are not going to school,” he added sternly.

“I don’t want to go see a movie,” I sighed, making him roll his eyes.

“Fine,” he mumbled with annoyance in his voice. “We can go walk around the mall. We can go wherever you want to go, but I am not letting you go to school.”

He took a deep breath and released it slowly.

“We can go…,” he mumbled, but stopped talking.

I saw the hesitation on his face.

“Go where?” I asked, furrowing my eyebrows a little.

Sebastian took another deep breath.

“Our trail,” he mumbled quietly. “It’s been a while since we went there.”

Sebastian and I loved the trail behind our house. We called it our trail because we would always go on a walk when one of us needed to talk. He found it about 5 years ago and it immediately became our favorite place. We both loved hiking and we loved spending time in nature. It was perfect and I always loved going there with him.

“It’s going to be fun, Rory,” he said, giving me a small smile.

I glanced through the window and sighed.

“It’s snowing outside,” I said, looking back at Sebastian.

He smirked and raised an eyebrow at me.

“So?” he asked. “Are you afraid of a little snow?”

I rolled my eyes at him and he laughed.

“Come on, Rory,” he said as he took my backpack. “It’s going to be fun.”

He threw my backpack on the ground and walked out of my room.

“Get dressed,” he said. “I’ll wait for you downstairs.”

I smiled a little as soon as he closed the door. I actually loved walking in the snow. Sebastian knew that.

I took a deep breath and walked back to my closet to get dressed.
