Training

It's Monday and I get in the car with my mam for the school run, all my siblings sit in the back and we go to the primary school first, I walk Thomas in and see my old year six teacher, she comes over to me. "Why aren't you in uniform" she asks me.
"I've left" I say
"No way, aww congratulations" she says. I hug her and say "thanks"

I go back to the car and my mam says "1 down and 2 to go"

We get to the secondary school and I walk sav and Lucas to the reception as they go in that way. I go in with them and then they go through the gate and go into school. I see the year 10s, I see Gabby and she comes over. "Hey gabs" I say to her
"Hey, I can't believe your not here. I hate it without your fun around " she says
"Thanks" I say
"So how's footy" she says
"I'm training with the senior squad this week" I say
"Wow congrats" she says
"Thanks"
"That's the bell I have science first" she says
"Oo. Who with" I say
"Miss gregor" she says
"Painful, anyway I better go" I say
"Yeah bye" she says

I walk out and go into the car. "What took you so long?" My mam asks
"I saw gabby" I say
"Okay now, you need to get ready and I'll drop you off. Do you want me to pick Leah up?" My mam asks
"No it's fine" I say
"You did make up though didn't you" my mam says
"Yeah we did, it's just awkward" I say
"How come" my mam asks as she starts to drive.
"When you picked me up on Saturday we hugged each other and then she went to kiss me but I pulled away" I say
"Why?" My mam asks
"Because she's my best friend and I don't want that to be ruined" I say
"Do you like her?" My mam asks
"I don't know, it's like a weird feeling" I say

We get home and I go upstairs and change. I get a message:

Hey Bails, can you pick me up my parents are both at work xx

I message Leah back:

Yeah I'm sure my mum won't mind xx

I go downstairs and grab my boot bag "we are picking Leah up" I say
"Attitude changed now?" My mam says
"Nah, she has no one to take her so she asked me" I say
"Okay"

We get to Leah's and she comes out and gets in the back. I smile at her and my mam says "hey le".
"Hi Emily" she says
We get at arsenal after the awkward car journey, mostly my mam and Leah speaking and me on the phone. Before we get out the car I say "I just got a text of Lucas"
"What does it say" my mam says
"I got into a fight so I'm now in isolation and I've got an extra hour after school so tell mam to not pick me up at normal time" I read out.
"Trust him to get into a fight. Have fun girls" my mam says

Me and Leah walk in. I smile at her and she says "nervous"
"Yeah you" I ask
"Yeah"

We go inside and I see Alex stood there waiting for us. "Just this way girls" she says
We get lead into the main changing rooms, we get changed and join the girls on the pitch.

We see Jonas. He explains everything and then it's time for training, we do hurdles and practise set pieces.

It was a lot more harder than our usual training but it felt normal.

We go into the changing rooms and get ready "you coming" Leah says to me. "Yeah give me one sec" I say. All the girls leave around us and it's just me and Leah. "I need to do my hair because I've got to take sav to gymnastics tonight" I say.
"And it's already 2:45 when my mam picks us up, we are going to pick up sav and Thomas then she will drop you off" I add
"Okay" Leah says
I take the ponytail out of my hair. "Can you pass me a bobble" I ask Leah.
She does that as the one I took out snapped. I start brushing my hair then put it into a low ponytail. "Ready to go" I say
We pick up out bags and then my mum is outside. We get in the car and drive to Thomas' school. Leah waits in the car and I go and get him.
