"Damn it! Why does this always happens? What am I doing wrong?" A brunette female said as she coughed from the smoke that came from her motor bike

She moved away from her bike and she sighed before taking a break. She washed her hands as she saw her best friend come into the room.

"Hey Yus, what's up?" She asked curiously

"I wanted to see how you were doing with your runner." He said with a smile

She then sighed as she leaned against the counter.

"That bad?" He asked

"I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Every time I think I'm done repairing it, it goes into smoke."

Yusei tried not to laugh as he heard her speak. He saw the sadness in her eyes and frowned.

"Why don't I look at it for you?" He suggested

She shook her head and walked passed him.

"No thanks Yusei. I know how busy you are getting ready for the tournament and all. I'll be fine." She said before going back to her runner

As she did she heard Crow, Jack, Luna, Leo, Akiza and other speak through out the day. Yusei had tried to offer his help to her twice only for her to reject it both times. So he watched her fix his bike until it got late. He saw she was still working on it. He went over to her only to get a cloth thrown at him.

"Don't even try. I can do this on my own. I have work tomorrow so I need to get it fixed." She said seriously

"You need to sleep Serena, you're going to over stress your body if you keep being stubborn like this." He said taking the cloth off of his face.

She looked up at Yusei as she pushed her glasses up before sighing.

"I know this Yusei, but this is the only way I can get to work." She said seriously

"I can take you tomorrow." He said with a shrug

"Oh yeah? And while I'm gone I have to worry about you touching my runner."

He was silent and she got up. "That's what I thought. But I guess it wouldn't hurt to have you look at it tomorrow."

He gave her a small smile. "I promise that I'll have it running smoother than before."

She went over to him and gave him a small hug before she went up the steps to take a shower. Afterwards she placed her pj's on and slept.

When Serena woke up she saw that it was an hour after she had to be up. She jolted up and got dressed before she saw a note from Yusei.

She sighed and placed her head against the wall. Why did she have to have stupid people as friends? She stopped sulking for the moment and she went to eat something before she saw Yusei come in on his D-wheel. She crossed her arms as she looked at him as he took his helmet off.

"What's with the glare Serena?" He asked curiously

"You know that none of us can risk a day off for no reason! Why didn't you wake me?!" She asked irate

He got off of his motor bike as he looked to her.

"You work more than Crow and I do and you just started to be with us here. I don't think it was for 'no reason' Serena." He said walking to her motor bike

"Fine...Whatever. Did my boss let me have the day off or not?" She asked

"He did, he says that you have the next two days off. You were supposed to have a week of reprieve before working there but you wouldn't have it. Which I don't understand why you'd purposely over work yourself like that." He said taking his jacket off.

"I don't over work myself Yusei, I am doing exactly as I said I would to help out here. I know that it might not be much, but I'll do anything to help you three out since you three helped me with my ex." She said sitting on the couch watching him.

"You're our friend Serena, I've known you since we were kids, you're like the sister I never really had." He said with a smile

"I know and you three are like the brothers I never had...since my actual brother is messed up in the head and I haven't seen him since he got out of being a dark signer." Serena said with her arms crossed leaning back on the couch

"I still can't believe that Kalin didn't tell us that you two were siblings...Even though you two don't look anything a like."

"He got our mother's genes and I got our fathers." She said with a shrug

"That I can believe. So what were you trying to do last night?" He asked curiously

She explained to him her problem and he instantly got to work. It took him about three hours to fix the problem with her runner before she tested the runner. She was shocked that it was quicker and ran smoother than before. She stopped it and hugged Yusei tightly.

"Thank you so much!" She said happily

"You're welcome Serena, just don't over do it alright?" He said with a smile

She nodded her head and she went out with her bike to cruse around. She got used to the speed of the runner before she was forced into a duel, the duel lasted 10 minutes before she was badly injured from the duel. Jack had seen her duel and reported to Yusei and Crow that she was in the hospital because of the duel she was in. All three of them went to the hospital and waited for a nurse to tell them it was okay for them to go into her room.

When they saw her she had a cast on her right arm and both of her legs. She looked down and away from the three guys sadly.

"Serena are you alright?" Yusei asked concerned

"No, I'm just as beat up as my runner. I was forced into a duel were none of my monsters worked." She said sadly

"The ghost again?" Crow asked

"It sounds it. Serena what type of deck where they using?" Yusei asked

"I don't remember the deck specifically, but I do remember a monster taking whatever syncromonster I had on the field and using it for itself."She said still not looking to them.

Yusei made her look up at him, he saw that she was crying out of her good eye. "Serena, don't worry, well find away around this. It isn't your fault that things are this way."

"B-But I lost Yusei, and this is the price for it. I...I don't think I'm cut out to be a duelist." She said sadly

"Don't say that Serena! You just need to practice a bit more thats all!" Crow said from the other side of her

"You really think so?" She asked sadly

"Yes, we all do Serena. You can't just give up after one lost like this. You need to recover from what happened and get back up again. Saying that you aren't cut out after one lost proves how much of a quitter you are." Jack said seriously with his arms crossed

"Jack, that's pretty cold." Crow said looking to him.

"H-He's right though. Alright Jack, if you say so I'll attempt to duel again. Once I can move my legs and arm." Serena said sadly
