“ I will offer you the last breath of my life.”
Lyney looked to his side, seeing the tear that streamed down as you were deep in thought. He moved closer, wiping that tear away, making you flinch from his sudden touch.
“I apologise!” he said, retracting his hand from your face. His face flushed, making you giggle, “I didn’t notice I was crying. I apologise”, you said, smiling at him.
Suddenly, you heard a loud sound coming from inside the manor. You quickly stood up and ran inside. “What on Teyvat happened?!” you exclaimed, seeing a portrait on the floor. “Oops,” the floating toy said, shrugging.
You stood there stunned, “Paimon, what did you do?!” the blonde male exclaimed, seeing the painting, “Oh (Y/n)! I hope that wasn’t valuable!” Navia said, rushing to get the painting off the floor.
A family portrait?
The portrait revealed a family: a father, a mother, and a daughter. The man’s eyes piercing through your soul. “My- Grandmother’s portrait,” you said, helping Navia with the portrait. Genevieve walked into the room and then froze, “Who made that portrait fall?” she asked, walking closer to you, looking at you with terror.
“Oh, mistress”, Genevive said, taking the portrait from your hands. “(Y/n), I’ll take this to the treasure room.” you nodded as Genevive walked away, carrying the picture up. “Please be careful in the manor; certain things are precious,” you said, glaring at the floating toy.
You walked up to the treasure room to see Genevive reminiscing with the pictures of your mother. A portrait on the left was you and him. His amethyst eyes shine right next to you.
“(Y/n), I didn’t notice you there”, Genevive softly said, wiping her tears away. “I forgot you were close to mother,” you muttered, walking towards the woman, “And I forgot your portrait with your past lover was here, with child, too.” She chuckled, “Genevive, you know you can rest right?” You softly spoke, earning a sigh “(Y/n), I can’t rest until you will,” she declared, reaching for your hair, “We both know that won’t be anytime soon”, you said, moving to her side and going for a small box.
Both of you walked out of the treasure room, giggling to each other, reminiscing about the past until Neuvillette came out of nowhere. “Neuvillette,” you called out, he was looking at another painting, “You have a lot of paintings of the two of you, the group downstairs are asking about it.” He said, holding to his cane, “oh-“ you said before rushing downstairs.
“Miss (Y/n)!” The toy exclaimed, making the two males turn to you, “Oh Madam!” Lyney exclaimed, “May we ask why you have a portrait of Lyney?” The toy questioned, walking closer, it was the both of you in the suit and dress you both used to wear.
“Ah” you muttered, “this is my grandparents,” you lied, smiling innocently at them, “It does seem like my grandfather looks just like you,” you smiled, making Lyney curious as to why.
Suddenly you heard Navia call out for you. You walked to the ballroom of the manor, seeing a box on the floor with letters scattered. “Oh my, what a mess” Navia exclaimed, trying to pick up all the papers, “Navia, where did you find these?” You asked, kneeling to help her.
“I thought they were leftover decor! I apologize, (Y/n)” Navia explained, hurrying to finish picking them up, “Navia, I’ll clean these up, tell the guests to go home” you said, making Navia nod and stand up.
As they all left, you read the letters. Letters from him and about him. You silently sat there, reading and reading until you felt your heart sink again.
“Dear Lady (Y/n),
I’d like to inform you that your lover…Lyney, is that of a fatui harbinger! This must sound wonderful, I’d like your permission to help…your dear Lyney, fourth harbinger
Yours truly, The Doctor”
