the day of the match against nekoma finally arrived. i had made plans with itami to attend the game together. we met outside the gymnasium, both eager to support our friends.

the excitement in the air was palpable as we entered the gym. the bleachers were filling up with enthusiastic fans, and the buzz of conversations added to the anticipation. we found our seats and settled in, watching as the players from both teams went through their warm-up routines.

everything had remained the same since monday, so suna hadn't texted me for anything unrelated to schoolwork. nevertheless, the guys had been busy with their daily training sessions after school in preparation for the match.

"i think i'll never get bored of watching them play." itami remarked, her eyes fixed on the players.

i nodded, sharing her excitement, eyes naturally drawn  on suna as he stood with his team, "yeah, it's going to be a great game."

just as the teams were about to take their positions on the court, i felt a presence approaching me. i looked down to see kuroo standing in front of the bleachers, a mischievous smile playing on his lips.

"y/n, right?" he said with a playful glint in his eyes, "mind giving me some luck for the game?"

beside me, i felt itami squeezing my hand hard, not realizing that suna was looking in our direction.

i chuckled, knowing where this was going, "it wouldn't be fair, you know. i'm rooting for inarizaki."

kuroo laughed as well, his charm as sharp as ever, "can't blame a guy for trying, right?" with a friendly wave, he returned to his team.

"good luck, kuroo!" itami shouted after him, her smile bright as she turned her attention back to the game.

.・。.・゜.・゜・。.

the game began, and the place buzzed with excitement. the teams clashed on the court, each player giving their all to secure victory. the intensity of the match was palpable, and the crowd's cheers and chants filled the air.

i couldn't help but notice that suna, despite his usual laid-back demeanor, was playing with an unexpected level of determination. his movements were sharp, his blocks precise, and his spikes powerful. it was as if he had decided to give it his all, and his presence on the court was commanding.

itami leaned in, her voice barely above a whisper. "is it just me, or is suna really going all out today?"

i nodded, equally surprised by his performance, "yeah, he's playing harder than i've seen him in a long time."

the match was an intense battle, with both teams showcasing incredible skill and teamwork. inarizaki's players were relentless, and nekoma's formidable defense lived up to their well-earned reputation. the rallies seemed never-ending, keeping the audience on the edge of their seats.

suna's performance was particularly exceptional. his spikes were powerful, and his blocks were impeccably timed. it was evident that he was pushing himself to the limit. as the game progressed, a mixture of pride and concern welled up within me. i knew suna possessed immense talent, but he rarely displayed this level of effort.

at one point, he made a spectacular save, diving to keep the ball in play. the crowd erupted in cheers, and i couldn't help but join in. suna's eyes met mine briefly, and for a moment, i saw a flicker of determination and a hint of a smile.

on the last set, the match had reached a critical point, and it was evident that there was a fierce rivalry brewing between both suna and kuroo. every block, every spike, and every point scored seemed like a personal challenge between the two middle blockers. their exchanges on the court were intense, and you could practically feel the competitive energy radiating from them.
