"damn, i won't pass this, not in a million years!" i groaned, sinking back in my chair, my frustration evident, while kuroo looked at me with amusement.

"when you messaged me for help with studying, i didn't think you were actually serious," he laughed as he reviewed my answers.

three days had passed since the events of that sunday morning with suna, and so far, he had kept his promise of treating me just like before. at least in that regard, he hadn't lied. however, this time, it was me who had distanced myself a bit, considering how he had made me feel last time we went intimate.

tomorrow, i had the exam i had been preparing for since the previous saturday thanks to itami. when kuroo texted me to meet up, i realized his academic record was nearly impeccable, so i invited him over to help me.

he continued to skim through my answers, occasionally shaking his head in mock disappointment. "you know, you're not doing as bad as you think," he remarked, his tone light.

i leaned forward, hopeful. "really?"

he grinned, his teasing nature in full swing. "no." i groaned in response "but hey, we've got time to turn things around."

as we delved into the study material, the hours seemed to fly by. kuroo's explanations were clear, and he had a knack for making even the most complex topics seem manageable. it was refreshing to have someone with such a different perspective help me understand the material better.

at one point, i couldn't help but smile. "you know, you're a pretty great tutor."

kuroo flashed me a grin. "i aim to please. but remember, you owe me one for this."

i raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "oh? what do you have in mind?"

he leaned in a little closer, a mischievous glint in his eye. "how about a date? you and me this friday?"

i felt a sudden rush of warmth to my cheeks, and my heart seemed to skip a beat. kuroo's unexpected proposition had caught me off guard.

"a-a date?" i stuttered, my voice betraying my surprise. "i mean, uh, yeah, sure, that sounds... nice."

kuroo chuckled at my flustered response, clearly amused by my reaction. "don't worry, it won't be as boring as studying for this exam. we'll have a good time, i promise."

his confidence was contagious, and i found myself smiling despite my initial reaction. "alright, friday it is then," i replied with a newfound sense of anticipation.

"the professor definitely hates us." osamu sighed as he reviewed his notes to compare them with his answers.

"or she loves us so much that she wants to see us again in her class next year," atsumu laughed, draping his arm over my shoulder. "how about you? how did it go?"

"the third question had me doubting until the end... but i think i did pretty well." i smiled. it was true; the study session with kuroo had undoubtedly made a difference.

"i put fifty-five as the answer to that one." kita asserted, prompting aran to nod in agreement.

"fifty—what?!" atsumu turned to look at his captain in shook. "i got minus four!" he groaned, placing his hands on his head, realizing that if kita had put that down, then that was undoubtedly the correct answer.

"how can there be a party with negative four people?!" this time, aran regarded him as if he'd lost his mind. "you don't need to study to figure that out!"
