I THEN STOOD up from my chair, leaving to start my night routine.
As I stepped into the restroom, the soft glow of the vanity lights greeted me, casting a comforting ambiance. Eager to pamper myself after a long day, I leaned over the sink, feeling the gentle flow of water against my fingertips as I wet my face. The coolness enveloped my skin, providing a soothing sensation that eased away the day's stress.
Lost in the moment, I was taken aback when I felt his strong arms encircle me from behind. My heart leaped in my chest, startled by his sudden presence. A surprised yelp escaped my lips as he nestled his face into the crook of my neck, his warm breath tickling my skin.
"Jungwon, what are you doing?" I managed to utter, my voice betraying a blend of shock and curiosity. In response, he groaned tiredly, his voice carrying a hint of raspiness that sent shivers down my spine.
"It's not like this is our first time, we've cuddled before. How is this any different?" he muttered, his words washing over me, causing my cheeks to flush with a mixture of embarrassment and warmth. My throat felt dry, and I cleared it softly, summoning the courage to face him.
Turning around, I instantly regretted the decision as our faces were now mere inches apart. His arms remained securely wrapped around my waist, creating an intimate closeness that made my heart race. I couldn't help but notice the way his gaze flickered from my eyes to my lips, momentarily captivating me in a trance.
Snapping out of the spell, I took a step back, breaking free from his embrace. The rush of air between us felt both relieving and disappointing, leaving a bittersweet longing hanging in the air.
I opened the cabinet doors and grabbed two Hello Kitty face masks, a delightful find that I had been saving for a special occasion. A smile graced my lips as I admired the cute designs, finally getting the chance to use them. I reached for my teddy bear headband and placed it on my head, feeling a sense of whimsy and comfort. Jungwon's smile mirrored my own as he observed me.
"Bear pajamas with a bear headband, cute," Jungwon mumbled, the last word barely audible. I furrowed my eyebrows, unsure of his intentions. Fortunately, I had another headband, just in case something happened to the one I was wearing. I handed him the brown bear headband, meeting his gaze with a pleading yet embarrassed look.
"Please just put it on, it'll be cute," I implored, my voice tinged with a hint of playfulness. He sighed, bending down to my height as his eyes locked with mine. A genuine smile played on my lips as I broke eye contact, gently placing the headband on his head and tucking his hair away from his face. I noticed his unwavering gaze, but I shrugged it off, focusing on the task at hand. With a gentle touch, I finished adjusting his headband and let go, my hands still tingling from the contact.
Next, I grabbed my cleanser and began applying it to his face, taking care to cleanse his skin thoroughly. As we continued our skincare routine, we engaged in lighthearted conversation, the familiarity and ease between us palpable.
When it was time for the face masks, I struggled to open the packaging, my frustration evident. Before I could resort to using my teeth, Jungwon swiftly took the package from me. I hummed, shooting him a slightly annoyed look.
"It's not good to use your teeth. Do it with your hands," he stated matter-of-factly, effortlessly opening the package. He then handed the face mask to me, his eyes fixed on mine.
Grateful for his help, I spread the mask apart, revealing the adorable Hello Kitty design. Carefully, I applied the mask to my face, smoothing it over my skin with ease. Once I finished, I glanced at Jungwon through the mirror, noticing that he had been observing me. There was an undeniable connection in his gaze, a mixture of curiosity and admiration. I raised an eyebrow in confusion at his observation, but quickly brushed it off, focusing on the task at hand.
