Dear Wendy,
Jay came over today. Mom didn't want me to play with him but he snuck me out of the house since we had guests and mom was busy. He said I should try being rebellious for once but I was scared of going back home all the while that we were at the park. And when I finally went home, mom gave me 20 strokes on my thighs to scourge me and told me to say 15 decades without taking dinner. She said 5 were for me and 10 were for Jay since she guessed it was mostly his idea. I have to do it since I don't want us to go to hell even though I'm really hungry right now. I wish my soul-

'This is just because I want you to have more accessories. I definitely don't just want you and Mason to talk to each other.'

A soft knock on the door made me sigh as I read the message. Jordan was really serious about me getting practice with his 'approved boys' as he so graciously referred to them as.

I walked out of my room and tiptoed past my parents room before getting to the front door and opening it. Just as I thought, Mason stood there holding a much smaller black box.

Might as well get this over with. Poor guy probably didn't even know all of Jordan's plans for him.

''Sorry to bother you again.'' He apologized. My eyes weren't covered as it was night time so he was staring into my mismatched eyes with his brown ones. Again.

''It's fine.'' I responded as he handed the box over to me. I noticed how he made an effort to not touch me which pleased me. Looking up at him again, I noticed his brown eyes bore a strong resemblance to someone. ''Do you know anyone named Zane that's a student of my dad?'' I couldn't help but ask.

He grinned at my question which made their resemblance almost uncanny. ''Oh Zane? I'm his younger brother.'' He revealed.

I couldn't hide my surprise as my brain booted his words. ''Younger?'' I echoed. How could they not be twins?

''Yeah. He's in your age bracket obviously while I'm still in senior high so I'm eighteen.'' He informed.

''High school?'' I questioned in a small voice probably sounding like a parrot at that point but what in the-

I suddenly remembered the last thing Jordan was saying. That Mason was a few months younger than me. But now that I'd connected his face with Zane, they looked like they should be twins. Only difference was their hair color.

He shrugged. ''Yeah. By next year, I'll finally be in college. But you all would be gone already.''

This at least explained why I thought he was familiar. I'd felt the same way looking into his brother's eyes. But...

He can't be the person I suspected he was if he's eighteen years old. I definitely don't know him. This made Zane the only one I needed to recognize.

His face suddenly went a little serious. ''So, do you like, use contacts or something? Zane told me he didn't see it. Your different colored irises I mean.''

I started to feel a little defensive. Since I got here, he'd been the only one who had literally stared right into one of my worst blemishes that was a part of the first starters of all my problems.

I clenched my hands squeezing the handle of the bag I was holding in the process. ''What are you getting at?'' I said lowly not liking where the conversation was going.

Maybe it was the icy look that was probably in my eyes, but his own brown eyes widened a fraction at my words. ''I didn't mean to- I mean, I only wanted to tell you that your real eyes are obviously prettier than whatever you show people- not like I'm calling you a liar or anything. I just- you look really striking and you're really-'' He stopped himself mid-rant while running a hand through his brown hair as he looked away trying but failing at hiding his fully flushed cheeks.
