CONFESSIONS OF THE HEART

THE BEST FRIEND trio had returned from the volleyball tournament and were getting dressed to go hang out with the other debs.

Lily had showered and gotten dressed while Gwen and Sophie were still trying to decide what to wear.

After today, Lily felt like it was time she confessed her feelings to Conrad, even if it meant he probably didn't feel the same way about her.

She had already gotten used to the unreciprocated feelings with Jeremiah.

The girl was just hoping it didn't hurt as much as it did with Jeremiah.

As Lily applied her final touches to her makeup, she took a quick glance at herself before standing up from her small vanity.

"I'm gonna talk to Conrad before we leave." Lily announced as she mentally prepared herself for what she was about to do.

"You're telling him right before we hang out with the debs?" Sophie asked with a raised brow.

"Yeah. That way I can be preoccupied and not overthink it." Lily remarked as she took a deep breath in.

"Wish me luck." Lily breathed out as she made her way to her bedroom door.

"Good luck." The two girls called out before Lily disappeared down the hall towards Conrad's room.

As she approached his door, she quickly pushed her hair behind her ear before knocking softly on his door.

Conrad turned at the sound of the knock and smiled once he saw it was Lily.

"Hey Lilo." Conrad smiled softly as his eyes softened.

"Hey Connie." Lily smiled back, her cheeks beginning to tint a light shade of pink.

"We made a great team today." Conrad stated as he turned to face her.

"Yeah, we always do." Lily agreed as she played with her fingers nervously.

"What's wrong?" He asked once he noticed Lily playing with her fingers.

"Nothing. Why?" She asked, trying to hide the fact that she was absolutely nervous.

"You play with your fingers when you're nervous." Conrad pointed out causing a swarm of butterflies to flutter in Lily's stomach.

"I've been pushing off saying this but I just, I need to get this off my chest so it's not weighing on me anymore." Lily stated nervously.

"I've had feelings for Jeremiah for the longest and each summer I'd think he'd finally like me back but every year I'd be disappointed as I watched him hook up with anyone but me. And you know, I thought this year would be the same by the time I'd leave for school but that wasn't the case.
