Dear daughter

12 3 2

I didn't mean to cause you pain,

I didn't have anything to gain.

Truly, I wanted to be there,

your first steps, words, growth of hair.

I missed a lot, but it was a mistake,

Sorry that i missed your birthdays, your first cake.

Your mother raised you well, I see,

I'm happy for you, my bumble bee.

I know you heard jokes about my absence.

I know you had it tough, without your old man,

I should've been there for you,

for your mother, too.

I'm truly sorry, I really am,

You deserve better, I didn't meed to scram.

You're my kid and I love you,

tell your mom I love her too.
