The next day, I and the girls were at school thanks to Miss Izzaline's violent portal.

It's like that thing gets stronger every time it shows up.

"So Brie, what happened yesterday after....." Sarah shut her mouth when we all gave her glares to read the room. "I don't want to talk about it." Brie said looking away. Jenny then placed her hand over her mouth to muffle down a laugh that Bailey was able to keep down with an elbow to her ribs.
"Well I have a class so I'll see you guys later." Bethany let out as she stood up and left. After the whole leaving me with a beast, Bethany hadn't even spoken to me, talk less of apologizing.

'It's okay, it's not like I almost died or anything because that's exactly what happened.'

Harley dragged Brie off to buy better clothes because she claimed to have 'generously' criticized everyone of Brie's clothes. Nothing that girl said was generous. It was all just plain criticism.
Sasha had a cooking class, Sarah and Amity said they had a thing to catch up on and Jenny pretty much forced Bailey to come along to whatever place she was going.
"So, I'm free for the day." Vinna said realizing we were the only ones left. "We could grab a bite." She suggested as she pointed to the cafeteria behind us. "I could eat." I smiled with a shrug.
Vinna ordered an ice cream sundae and I had french fries. "We have a month till the blood festival." She said after a spoon of ice cream. My mood immediately turned sour at what she had just said but I held it in and asked her what we were going to do in the festival.
"Well, from what I heard, the academy's best students present their abilities and for the rest of the festival we listen to whatever history they have left of the blood benders." She stopped to take another spoon of ice cream before she continued "Poor guys really."
"What's the point of remembering something that won't ever come back?" I said looking away. I blinked away my thoughts and looked back at Vinna. I threw her a confused expression because she wasn't paying attention. "Aaahh Vinna?" My eyebrows furrowed deeper in confusion when a shade of red crept over her face.
As I slowly turned my head to see what had stunned her so badly, I grinned from ear to ear when my eyes traced it down to a boy. "Vinna!" I called for the thousandth time. "Yeah" she answered in a quick breath.
"Who is he?" I casually said as I bit off half a fry. "Who?" She asked looking down as he passed by us. "The guy who just walked passed us." I asked with a smile. "He's just some guy in my class."
"A very good looking guy." I said blanky. She immediately choked and my eyes widened in shock.

'Who chokes on ice cream?'

I watched her and laughed before telling her she had red all over her face. "I am not blushing Nessa." She said putting on a serious face. "I never said that." I said  slightly raising my hands like I was calming an injured animal. "You and I both know what you meant." She said rolling her eyes. "Your face is a little red." I replied avoiding her gaze.
"I have no idea of what you're talking about." Vinna turned her head away and closed her eyes. "Just drop it okay." Her expression immediately changed from nervous to closed off.
"Okay okay. I was just messing with you. If you don't want to talk about it, it's fine." I said with a small smile. "I'm sorry I have to go." She said as she stood and paid for our food before she left.
I mean I'm glad I didn't get to pay for my fries but still, I did nothing wrong right?

Vinna's POV
I didn't mean to storm out on Nessa like that but what she said kind of triggered me a little and I needed some space to clear my foggy, messed up thoughts. So I left.
I didn't realize I was too lost in my thoughts until I came out of them and I realized I was already somehow deep in the island's forest.
I was too frustrated to care so I leaned my back on a random tree and slid down, laying my head back against the bark as I closed my eyes tight and slowly felt tears streak down my eyes.
I scoffed. Tears, that was the last thing I needed right now. I opened my eyes when I heard footsteps to see the boy from my elemental class, Kaden.
We both stared in silence before I finally stood up from my spot on the forest floor and dusted the dirt off my clothes. "Sorry, I didn't mean to disturb you." He said blanky. "It's fine." I said still getting the dirt off my skirt.
He stayed silent at my tear streaked face before meeting my eyes again. "Are you okay?" I blinked at him in surprise, wondering why he cared and I accidentally blurted out "Why do you care?"
I shut my eyes tight as I  registered my words, really hating my non-existence brain-to-mouth filter. I opened my eyes just to see his face which suddenly looked closed off.
I bit my lower lip in regret, wondering why I had said that. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean that." He nodded in reply before walking up close to me.
He raised his fingers to my cheek and wiped a tear clean with his abnormally warm hand. I could feel the blood rushing to my cheek as I stood there frozen as I wondered what was going on.
The moment he took a few steps away from me, my hands instinctively touched my cheek as I realized what had just happened. He scanned my face again, taking note of the blush blooming on my cheeks which led to the slight upturn of the corner of his lips.
"See you later..Vinna." He said and walked away.

'He knows my name?'
