Sarah's POV
I couldn't sleep that night because all I had on my mind was Amity. I had to know what was going on in her head because her constant happiness felt surreal. "I'm sorry." I whispered as I got out of my bed and tiptoed towards her. "I'm sure you wouldn't mind." I lied in a sad attempt to justify myself.
                 Amity's Mind
I hit the ground in a loud thud as I fell into Amity unconscious mind. I got up and dusted the dirt off my pajamas and immediately noticed something was wrong. "Weird, where are all the unicorns?" I asked as I took a sweep of the vast empty colourful place that used to have puppies, walking desserts and unicorns at every corner.
"They're gone, she got them." A person whispered behind me. I turned around in shock to see Amity but she looked like a goth. Void of any emotions and dressed in the traditional black and white. "You're Amity's veritas." I said with a huge squeal before I slapped myself hard in the face to get it together.
Veritas portray the strong emotions we truly feel deep inside. It is very rare to find one when traveling through a person's mind because they mostly keep to themselves and run away when found. Hence, the reason for my squealing. I walked up to the swing Amity's veritas was on and sat on the swing next to her.
"If you don't mind me asking, what did you mean by 'she got them.' is there another veritas here?" I asked trying to hide the squeal in my voice  because that would mean a scientific discovery. "I don't know either. Amity is just so caught up in supressing her other emotions that she doesn't realize she's getting hurt." The veritas said maintaining it's blank face. "Is there any clue about this mystery she?"
"Well, she always calls Amity names before she causes havoc. Amity just had to stand up for herself or else.." The veritas put up her left hand that seemed to be slowly fading. "Or else what?" I asked even though I felt like I already knew. "I will cease to exist."
"That's not possible." I said ignoring the fading hand. "Emotions we always supress with time disappear because we never express them. In Amity's case, she has never for once acknowledged that she has a problem even when nobody's watching. I know a lot of people avoid death at all but I won't mind erasing from existence."
"I can't let that happen. We need to help her and I am definitely not going to let you erase from existence" I let out as I got up from the swing. "There is nothing you can do. The only one that can save Amity is Amity besides I haven't even been born yet."
"Hold up, what?" I asked with a furrowed brow. "Amity is still not sure about the kind of person she wants to be so technically I'm still prone to change." I shook my head and started to walk away. "That's enough knowledge for one day veritas. You're starting to give me a headache."
"This is the second time you're coming into Amity's mind. Why are you here?" I froze and a million excuses started to race through my mind but I decided to come clean instead. "I know it wrong for me to go through her mind without her permission but I couldn't buy the fact that she was always smiling. People going through stuff always then to smile in front of everyone to create the illusion that they're actually fine. So I wanted to find out for myself."
"No wonder I felt okay talking to you." I smiled at her blank response and apologized for coming without Amity's permission. "It was nice meeting a veritas for the first time." I said as I waved goodbye. "My pleasure." She said in a dead tone. As I started to fade away she said one last thing. "Sarah, please save Amity."
"I will." As I came back to reality, my eyes saddened at the sight of Amity curled up in bed and I went back to mine. After I placed my head on my soft pillow and covered myself up in my sheets. I couldn't help but think about the promise I had made to Amity's veritas.
"How am I supposed to do that?"

                    Jenny's POV
I and the girls were in the cafeteria, relaxing after the intense classes and we were settled in a comfortable silence. I know, I know, silence when I'm around sounds pretty impossible.
We were simply settled on our table and I busied myself by looking at everyone's choice of outfits. Giving them mental scores out of ten I'm my mind while I took a bite out of my hamburger.
My gaze stopped on a girl who was dressed in a red shirt and purple jeans. I almost choked on my burger at the fashion atrocity. "Okay, a minus 0.5 out of a ten for her." I thought. I dragged my gaze away and I froze when I spotted the prettiest guy I had ever seen in my life. He was surrounded by a group of guys and a few girls and was simply listening as another guy talked to all of them.
I looked over him noting how he wore a white tee-shirt that extended over his broad shoulders. It was obvious he worked out or something because the shirt was slightly strained around his arms  and from the way he was sitting, I could tell he was probably 6'2.
He had blue ripped jeans and Adidas trainers. A couple of rings on his fingers and a piercing on his left ear. I then focused on his face and noticed his piercing stormy grey eyes which were framed by long lashes and full lips which were slightly parted and stretched upon a slightly tan skin.
His pitch black hair was slightly long and fell into his eyes. It wasn't until I looked back into his eyes that I realized he had caught me staring at him. He smirked at me before looking away and my first instinct was to turn away in embarrassment at being caught staring. Realizing way too late that it was highly unlike me to act all blushy over a guy.
It was at that moment that the bell rang signifying we now had a class. Everyone broke out their daze and packed up their stuff to leave. I intentionally slowed down packing up my things before I slung my bag over my shoulder and checked to see that the guy's gaze was on me and determined not to let what happened go, I winked at him before turning away, barely noticing his look of surprise as I did.
