Katie's POV
It's been a couple days since Jeremy's party and I'm just leaving the school and walking to my car when Leah pulls up next to me in her car."I still didn't get a dress for graduation and it's tomorrow. Want to come?" She asks
"Sure. Pick me up at my house I have to meet my dad home first. He needs me to drop something off to one of his studios" I explain.
"Beat you there" she squeals and races off. Well no shit Sherlock, you're already in a car while I'm still walking to mine. The short drive home goes by fast and as I pull into my driveway I notice Leah isn't here yet. When I get out of my car I hear little squeals coming from the yard next door and look over to see Rose and Cosmo running around the front. Scarlett is sitting on the steps of the porch watching them and she waves to me as she sees me stand from the car.
"Katieeeee!" Rose squeals and runs over to me giving me a hug. Cosmo waddles over following his sister and gosh he's gotten so big.
"Hey Rose! Hi Cossy!" I say picking up the smaller child. I look over to Scarlett and mouth OMG at him walking so great and she smiles and nods her head.
"What are you guys up to?" I ask Cosmo in a baby voice but Rose answers.
"Dad's coming home! We're waiting for him out here and drawing him pictures in the driveway!" Rose says excited.
"That sounds like fun! Show me some of these pictures will you?" I ask her and she jumps excitedly and grabs my hand pulling me over to their yard. I walk over, still holding Cosmo and stop in their driveway, admiring the child's drawings of flowers and rainbows and the occasional lines I'm guessing we're Cosmo.
"Rose these are so good! You'll have to do my driveway next time"
"Oh yes! I could do that!" She says excitedly. "Do you like rainbows or butterflies?" She asks
"Both!" I say
"Just like mommy!" She squeals and continues to draw on her driveway again. I hear a beep coming from next to me and look over seeing Leah pull into my driveway. I grouch down and put Cosmo onto the ground before facing Scarlett.
"I'm glad you'll have him home again." I say even if it's a lie.
"Me too, it's well over due. Oh and if we can plan it, would you be able to watch the kids on Friday?"
"Sure, I'm done with school tomorrow" I say back
"That's super exciting. Are you excited to graduate?" She asks
"I am. I'm ready to be done with school." I say and Leah beeps her horn again. I turn around and give her a 'relax' face and turn back to face Scarlett.
"Sorry she's impatient. I better go before she gets out of the car" I laugh"Of course, go! I'll let you know for sure if Colin can go out Friday night."
"Sounds good." I say before sayiny bye to the kids and walking over to Leah's car.
"Lee, I never went inside. Gimme a minute."
She gets out of the car and follows me.
"I need to pee anyway."We walk inside and I see the envelope on the table for me to take, but I head upstairs so I can change into something else. It's getting hotter and hotter so I opt for biker shorts and a graphic tee. I slip on my trusty converse and grumble when I get one on but can't slip my foot into the other one. I sit down to in-tie it but get distracted by Leah.
"Woah check out your neighbor" Leah sings as she looks out my bedroom window. I walk over to where she is standing infront of my big open window and I see there's a big blacked out truck parked in the driveway. The kids are standing around the drivers side door for it to open and out walks Colin. I see Scarlett walk out and she's in a very short silk robe with leaving not much to the imagination. She changed fast! I see a big smile spread across her face as Colin steps out and greets the children with big hugs. He walks over to his wife and doesn't give more than a small side hug and walks in through the garage. I see how Scarlett's head falls in disappointment and I don't blame her.
