Scarlett's POV
Today is the day of The Row's annual gala. I was excited for it because Katie is coming home today and I'd get to see her at the gala, and hopefully after. But that plan went to shit at about 11am this morning.

When Frankie and Anne showed up for my skin prep and fitting I was shocked when Colin walked in with them. But then I remembered we both were supposed to be there and since I haven't announced a separation from him we have to appear like we are still together.

I was hoping he would just bail but since he's here, toting breakfast and coffee I can see he's not going to back down. He just can't take a hint.

I managed to avoid him most of the morning and with Katie being on a plane I can't even warn her. It'll be fine, I can explain once I see her at the gala.

I'm glad Anne picked out my attire because I didn't have to worry about much. She found a gorgeous off the shoulder black dress and we paired it with a gorgeous almost rainbow in color necklace that covers a lot of my chest. When I'm finally dressed and glammed up I let Frankie take some pictures and head directly to the car. I sit closer to the opposite door I entered and Colin gets in next. He has on a tailored black suit, with a white shirt. Simple, classic, boring.

"Are you going to try and avoid me the whole night when we're in the same room?" He asks once the car pulls away from the house.

"That's the plan. I don't even know why you're here." I say with a little too much venom in my tone but I'm annoyed.

"We're married Scarlett and I'm due to attend this too. I'm trying to work things out with you but you won't give me the time of day!" He says a little loud

"I don't want to fix this. It's too broken. Why can't you get the hint." I explain.

"I'm not just going to give up. If I have to fight for you until you file divorce papers then I will. And I will prove to you why we are meant to be together" he scoots closer to me and lays a hand on my thigh. I quickly push it off and scoot closer to the door.

"Don't." I scowl and he moves back over to his side with a huff. The rest of the car ride is silent and we get a warning once we are next to be let out. I plaster a fake smile on my face in case they can see through the windows and keep that same fake-ness when I'm helped out of the car by Colin.

The flashing lights are almost blinding and my name is screamed from all over the place. I pose with Colin hoping no one can sense any tension. I refuse to look at him, or put my arm around him. When they start chanting kiss i playfully laugh and walk away from the carpet to find anyone else.

I spot Lizzie talking to her sisters as soon as I enter the venue and make a bee line for them. Lizzie's dress is gorgeous and the twins both have on black velvet suits. One is buttoned on the left side while Ash's is buttoned on the right.

"Hey guys!" I greet them but they all have worried looks on the face.

"Scarlett wow! Love your dress! Thanks for staying on theme." Mk hugs me and I notice everyone is in some sort of black attire. Good call on my dress.

I hug Ash and Lizzie but feel the way Lizzie is shaking in my arms. "Liz, what's wrong?"

"Katies not here."

"Did you call her? You saw her go inside her house right?" I ask her

"No answer. And Yes scar she was right at the front door." Lizzie claims. "What time did she leave your house?" She asks

"My house? She didnt come over?" I question.

"She got you flowers so I'm pretty sure she was going to come over and give them to you." Lizzie explains.
